Going up I used a Russian guy. Or maybe Romanian, with a covered trailer. Spoke nearly zero English but had a cool translator on his phone. Rick's people use an intermediary out of FL who found him.
I flew up and drove it back to get a big chunk of break-in done.

Hi Carlton,
Without getting too deep into the myriad of details and differences in the broad stroke of "3.8L or 4.0L GT3/GT4 engine"
Here are the models available to be converted.
2016 GT4/ Boxster Spyder
718 GT4 4.0L/ Boxster Spyder
997.2 Carrera S/GTS
991.1 Carrera S/GTS
991.1 GT3 RS
991.2 GT3/GT3RS 4.0L
ANY 997.2, 987.2S, 981 Cayman/Boxster WITH a 3.8L conversion can then go to the 4.5L

@Rick DeMan Can the 987.2S also receive your shortened gearset and lightened flywheel? In other words, is there anything on your full GT4 treatment that won’t work on a 987.2S?
Yes, our gearset 2-5 and lightweight flywheel will fit the 987.2 S including our LSD

991.1 Carrera S Initial Driving Impressions with 4.5L Completed.
Purpose:
Take an already excellent package of stock 991.1 Carrera S and take it to the next level of excitement, feeling, and of course speed.
Although the intension is to go faster, it still needs to be a good daily for wife acceptance factor. It needs to do coffee runs with comfort.
Local race track has sound restriction levels of 96db at 50ft. This means the car needs to be emotional but stay within noise ordinance requirements. Tough needle to thread.
What was done so far:
DeMan 4.5L conversion
Fabspeed headers with catalytic converter (for sound and power).
Porsche Stock GTS exhaust (for sound and power).
PDK reprogramming
Maintenance stuff since my car was higher mileage
Initial Impressions:
Start up: Nice cold start initial growl. It had my friend and I looking at each other wondering if it will fail sound at the track. Sounds tough. Love it (but hesitant). I really don't like the pain in the neck of adding exhaust turn down tips every time the car sees a track day. Plus turn down tips don't exactly look good.
On the road the extra torque can be felt immediately. It let's the driver know there's extra grunt underneath and ready to be unleashed but still polite in a more urgent manner.
On the freeway cruising at 75mph, the car actually has less drone as others have mentioned. It's less noisy and more comfy when cruising. Love it!
Punch it and the revs rise much more quickly than before. At 5,000 RPM, it is a totally different car. This is no longer the 991.1 that left the garage a few months ago. Feels more like the 2019 GT3RS I've driven on track before. It has a very nice strong thrust yet delivered in a very controllable manner. Revs rise from 5k to redline in a blink and all doubts about cost, resale, retirement, and college expenses for kids fade away. Replaced by a wide smile. The quiet comfy ride is suddenly replaced by this amazing howl at a volume that hurts the ear just a little (in a good way). Like warping into another dimension with the hulk yelling outside the window before each shift at redline. Enough to induce giggles out of adults but still within sound restrictions of the track. Perfect! Thanks Rick for the spot on recommendation. So much fun! Which is faster between this and GT3RS? Can't wait to find out at the track!
PDK now shifts with a little more urgency in non-sport mode. It downshifts with a little more bravado.
In Sport mode, it runs more like Sport Plus. On hard braking downshifts, the exhaust cracks and burbles with drama and theater. Can't help but smile. The way the car shifts reminds me of a McLaren 720s actually.
Coming out of corners hard in 2nd gear (on the street with SuperCar 3's), the car grips and comes out hard. The traction control yellow light flashes a smidge but there was no noticeable cut in power and the car flowed beautifully out with tremendous speed. Can't wait to take this out to the track!
There will be additional things such as track tires on another set of wheels, Ohlins, plus a few other items before this car sees the track again. With everything backordered it may take a few months.
More to come.
