718 GT4?

Would still be surprised if Porsche put different motors in the Spyder/GT4..... Goes against what they did with the original 987 Spyder/R and the 981 revisions.... But never say never...
I’d agree that the most likely engine— particularly from a “marketing” perspective— would be to enlarge the current GT4/Spyder motor to a 4L capacity, with a few simple tweaks to remove the inbuilt “restrictions” on the original GT4 motor (different plenum/TB/Manifold).... Would be cheap and provide the exact sort of power increase Porsche are after..... Whilst still being able to market it as a “4L N/A” engine.... It’s a win-win for Porsche...
However, if that is what they choose to do, it may well be cheaper/just as effective for many current Spyder/GT4 owners to simply apply the above “mods” to their own cars— ie. remove the inbuilt “detune”... The 0.2L increased capacity will, by itself, offer very little... 😏

I think there are endless videos around doing exactly this from when the 718 was introduced in 2016. Comparing 981 (6-cyl) to 718 (4-cyl). Not really hard to hear a difference, even through crappy computer speakers...

None of those 3 clips sound NASP to me.

Doesn't sound like 4 cylinder though, even though it definitely doesn't sound N/A. Paging Whoopsy.

On this evidence 3.0 H6 turbo must be the by far likeliest scenario now. It's pretty loud (hard to say though with the phone mic auto-level) and a little different from 991.2/992 but definitely not NA like.

ohhh boy...if you ask me, the WOT clip sounds like a 718 4-cyl turbo....I really want to be wrong on this one!
