I thought that the new tires were suppose to be better? Those don’t look sticky at all! They seem to want no contact with the pavement at all actually?

i think that the new GT4 would run 7min flat with decent tires. Easy mod!!!

The new engine’s power and torque increases and its wider torque spread make the gearing a nonissue, and the cars pull well at lower rpm. "

"Hats off to the Porsche engineers for doing a superb job on these cars’ Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) calibration. We mentioned the dampers, but the springs, anti-roll bars, and ride height (1.2 inches lower than the last-gen GT4’s) are also unique."
I've just cancelled my subscription to Automobile.
These people are idiots.

Just can't unsee that ugly rear end.
The 987 is by far the best looking Cayman.

It is very "busy" indeed.
I think that had they left out the Porsche brake light that runs clear across the back, it would have looked a lot better.

I wanted to highlight this quote from the press release. I know the 718 appears to look the same but I bet
the metal composition is strengthened somehow. If Porsche altered the look of the part it would
admit fault on the 981.

"A lightweight spring-strut suspension, designed for extreme

loads, guides the front wheels with particularly fine precision

and provides the basis for highly agile steering response."

How does auto start/stop work in other Porsche models? Does it come back on every time you start the car? Can it be coded out if so?

In our 981 BGTS, you push the button once and it stays off.

Agree. 987s were the best looking cayman/Boxster.

Hate the new rear on these cars, part of the reason I plan to skip the entire 992 generation !

I agree that they really f'd up the 718 rear end, but I think the 981 *** is the sexiest in the industry. The way that spoiler goes into the tail lights is pure art. Then they had to go and put P O R S C H E in the middle and breaks up all the lines. WTF.

+1 Pure art, indeed!

I was trying to think of another car where the spoiler melted/blended into the rear lense and I couldn't come up with one. If anyone thinks of one, holler.
