Andreas Preuninger + Henry Catchpole

AP says GT4/Spyder engine will be used in other applications as well, I'm hoping for a Carrera T that uses this engine.

PDK will be available later in the model cycle.

OPF is not such a big deal as it was made to be

Also AP mentioned they will attempt to meet demand, this time around. Which is hopefully a good sign on availability and no ADM for later next year.

Anything done about the 981 failing strut towers, especially on lowered cars?

Unclear at this point, he certainly didn’t bring it up.

No different from the 981.

He wouldn't. That would be like an open admission by PAG considering they have denied warranty on those.

I stand corrected. Spoke with my dealer yesterday and indeed they don’t have dates. I got it mixed up with a 992 allocation, which will indeed be delivered in the fall. I’m sorry for the misinformation here.

My short review of this new 4.0l engine.

Looks like we are back to the "7" generation : like the 987 Spyder with a mix with a 997.
+1 not as throaty as the 981, a little higher pitch. I do still like it. Sounds a little more old school

Likely see some sort of non-GT Cayman with this engine slot between GTS($80k) and GT4($99k).

More importantly he said this normally aspirated 4.0L is good for current and future emisson regulations.

My guess is that this engine will be used in future 992 models.....4.0L turbo? Who knows, but I would find it strange to used it on a water-down GT4.
AP can now brag about a bespoke engine in the GT4/Spyder (not a parts bin special anymore)...that's until they use it on other models! But this time the GT4 got it first.....
