I’m not sure how this is supposed to compel current 981 GT4 owners to upgrade. Yes, the looks are quite nice but performance is effectively unchanged. With that price hike, I’d rather take the 981 to 718 price difference and invest in 981 modifications; Dundon D4 package.

The engine isnt that big of a deal...the look is ruined. Good thing out GT4's look the works

Is all you care about in the world how desirable your GT4 is?

One of the articles mentioned that the old weight was with weight savings options. The new EU standard makes them list the base car with no options. It's a 30kg increase in weight for base model vs base model.

For clarity since no one explicitly posted the price in here:

718 GT4 MSRP $99,200

718 Spyder MSRP $96,300

+ $1,250 delivery fee

That's a $13,605 increase in base price on the GT4. Quite a lot. There will be tons of builds easily into the $120-130k range and up. I bet some will touch $150k with PTS and all.

That's good support for 981 GT4 prices too.

The 2020 718 Cayman GT4 and 718 Spyder are available to order now and are expected to reach U.S. dealers in Spring 2020. The MSRP for the 718 Spyder is $96,300, while the 718 Cayman GT4 retails for $99,200 – both not including the $1,250 delivery, processing and handling fee.”

Those prices make a 991.1 GT3 look very compelling now.
