I don't mind the spaced exhausts; however, I find the design and detailing of the plastic panel (the diffuser) heavy handed. Ditto the front spoiler, to some extent.

Look at the front and rear on the 992, huge black plastic panels front and rear. The future of Porsche styling is mass amounts of black plastic.

Not much new, but I did notice one thing I don't really like on the new GT4 front bumper/splitter. Looks like the splitter is now the only thing on the bottom of center air dam. Meaning, no more body color portion there. Not very noticeable on the black test car, but I wonder how that will look on cars with other colors? I usually don't like it when there is too much of the black plastic around the car, a la GT2 RS. I prefer the sleeker look when it's all the same color. Minor complaint though.
Agreed, the black plastic detracts aesthetically, but is very practical on a car that gets driven...
The splitters are getting quite low and jut out more and more (in order to be effective), but it makes it more vulnerable to curbs, speed bumps, ramps, and transitions.
Plastic splitter is $200 and disposable...painted would be multiples of that, and carbon would be order of magnitude more.

But agreed, the black plastic behind the rear tire on the GT2 is jarring to say the least...

Yes. We know from the 718 Spyder that was wrecked that at least some of the mules are "real" colors that are just wrapped black.

GT3 sounds good, 718 GT4 sounds a bit pants, tbh. Agree - latter sounds like a turbo to me!

Going to be a *hit-show if 718 GT4 & Spyder end up being 4cyl turbos.

I wouldn't expect it any other way; would you?

The GT4 sounds like a detuned NA motor with a newly routed exhaust...

Heard from a little birdy that the 718 GT4 and Spyder won’t be shown officially until Geneva 2020. A couple concepts will be shown prior.

I expected something like that. They're stretching out the mode line until sun-setting the current platform by '21 or '22. Porsche may have gotten some sort of exception or creatively leveraging a GT4 homologation rule by delaying the street version. The car is real; so, getting an exception wouldn't be an issue. To keep things exciting, we might see Cayman 6/Boxster 6 this year. That will also help saving the best as a send-off of an era!
