This makes sense to me after hearing they are moving all Cayman production in August to a new plant. Can’t see them starting production and moving plants mid production.

If you are referring to the interior air vents (and not the exterior side intakes) I’m in complete agreement.
I don’t understand why they made the design more prominent and “attention-grabbing”. Why would anyone want their air vents to be a design feature. If anything I want them to disappear and not interrupt the expanse of leather dash (that I would spec). In addition to me they are ugly.
In Daytona I was looking closely at the clubsports in the garage, and they had the 718 style air vents and I simply didn’t like them. And unlike an exterior feature I may not like - the air vents are in view every time you are in the car.
If they offer a PDK I might consider the next version but I agree with many that there are some changes I don’t like (wheels included) and it makes it tougher and tougher to give up the current GT4. But I have learned to wait until I see it in person and in different colors before I decide.

When I hop in a 718 I'm much happier and at home as far as the interior and PCM. Feels like a distinct upgrade from the 981 to me.

^Well said.

I'm the opposite. I spend M-F in my 991.2. Saturday I hop in my 981 (with full leather interior) and feel like the aesthetics and PCM are a huge downgrade. Then I start driving and don't care...

But I can also turn the screen off and be done with it. And then it's not relevant at all for me.

Wheels might be "meh" but easily addressed with all the numerous aftermarket options. Personally will be optioning my car with steel brakes and swap to 19" Forgelines right away.
I wonder if they will deviate much from the current 718 color palettes offered? I am thinking the GT4 would look good in Miami Blue.
My wish list: PDK (for track), Miami Blue, zero options otherwise

Personal plan is a white (0Q) Spyder with 6MT, white 20" Advan GT wheels (vs 19" Forgeline GS1R) and CCB
