I hope that the new car kills it, although I fear that it will be an evolution moreso than a revelation

Either way my current GT4 is super special just as it is. I not sure I will ever change it for anything. Maybe an RS but it will take something really great and special yand times will have to be good. Otherwise I think I’m getting buried in my GT4.

I always want something newer and faster. Maybe it's to make up for the fact that I am getting older and slower.

Anybody with a 981 can add a tune and throttle body to upgrade their car. Exhaust too.
X51 kit is also possible if you want to spend the money.

The 781 GT4 is basically a 981.2.GT4

If you own a 981GT4, chances are you will not upgrade to a 718GT4 if the price delta is too high.
Which is ok. The 981GT4 is great car.

^^you raise an interesting point .. will there be a price delta? My mischievous cleaning lady estimated (without much hesitation) a number that surprised me on the low side.

I anticipate prices to be in line with the 981GT4 from 2016 will only a slight increase given the subtle new changes.

The 2019 race car pricing was surprisingly good. Perhaps that will be the same case for the street car.

The delta will all come down to how much the 981 is worth on the used market early next year.

My guess is 5-6% above 2016 pricing. Also the GT4 is a great entry level car that probably got a lot of people hooked on the Porsche GT bug, incentive for them to keep the price down.

And here I thought I was the only one with that problem.

Offering PDK, which is something I predicted in a post back on March 30, along with NA engine and LA Show intro, will expand the market and be a reason .1 customers may change.

I really like my GT4 but I wouldn't be opposed to a PDK 718 GT4. I really didn't consider PDK until driving my buddies 991 GT3, the dual clutch really optimizes the engine

I haven't done a 982 yet. Your local body shop can glass those in and re-paint. I realize no one wants to paint a bumper cover for re-sale reasons but we have several 981 customers that have purchased the GT4 ducts and had us glass in the GT4 and then re-paint. Looks very OE.

PDK for track for sure, but I much prefer MT for street, non-track driving. If .2 isn't offered in PDK, it'll be hard for me to justify it, as I believe .1 is a sublime automobile and sports car.

Will 100% get one if PDK, however if only manual will pass. I would get the Spyder instead if only manual bc as others have said, PDK for track fun, manual for street fun.

Now that warranties are expiring and cars are trading hands people are starting to call and inquire about our putting PDK in the road car.

That would be an interesting upgrade.
