Now is a great time to buy a 981 GT4 as the demand is really low, throw on Dundon headers with a tune for $5k and you're at ~439hp. I think once the 718 GT4 is announced, the demand for current GT4's will increase as people will see the minor improvement and large price delta. I've been in the market for a few months and the guys that want to sell, are being very flexible on the price >10k off MSRP.

I agree with the dundon headers and tune but I do not believe demand will go up once the 718 is announced. The price will go down on the 981 once the 718 hit the streets. It will be better in every measurable way, looks will be personal preference. Only way they would go up is if the 718 is a 4cyl which is 99.99% not going to happen. Love the 981 and nothing wrong with buying one now but don't be under the illusion that it's price will hold where it's at.

For me I don't see there being a large discrepancy in price between the two models. I do not see the starting price to exceed 95,000. I think it will actually be around 93. This puts it smack dab in the middle of the current 981 market. Now granted almost every build will be at or slightly over a 100k that still puts it at only a 17% increase in cost for the cheapest non wrecked 981. I don't see this as a significant price gap for there to be room for this price to hold or go up. The market will definitely soften as we get closer to release of the 718 due to waiters and winter. I don't ever see it going up in the short term from where it's at. I also don't believe it will severely drop in price either so it's still a safe buy relatively speaking.

1) 6cyl 3.8 or 4.0l N/A (not GT3 engine)
2) 4cyl 2.0l or 2.5l Turbo + Hybrid
2 variants.
for Spyder. as also for GT4.
similar Panamera.
Now with the whole Hybrid- und E-models incoming.
Battery in the frunkfloor. or also in the back possible? (heat)
see:
Of course is the TurboHybrid GT4 faster. And the top of the range model. To prepare us.
But also good guy they play with us / with the N/A offering for us who stuck in the past.
Similar as F did it with the Lusso.
creativ. But maybe worth a riddle... ?

in many countries we reached already the point where 30% of the car price are mpg/emission taxes. a lot can be saved going 50km full elektric. (pluginHybrid)
meaning around 30.000€ more at the GT4 example.
so.
put 10.000€ in Hybrid tech.
put 10.000€ in mark up for P.
stay 10.000€ cheaper in the market.
for a better and faster (but heavier) car.
let it sink in:
Austrian example.
Panamera 4S = 19% NoVA
Panamera 4 E-Hybrid = 0% NoVA
old GT4 = 30% NoVA
and at the yearly tax are also sometimes more than a couple of thousand euros difference. and nearly each EU country has already goodies for green ... how to call it ... motorsport!
baby sports model line should be first. before 911/992.

Can't tell if you're arguing that this would be a good idea, JoKer, or arguing that it's actually happening with 718 GT4. Either way, you're smoking crack, but I'm curious which you mean.

we had those 420 jokes in the pages gone by...
could be possible with the 718 base chassis or not?
never seen one. not experinced enough with panamera or cayenne hybrid and not chassis differences.
living in a country where those taxes apply. never had a hybrid till now. but a GT4 i liked. mhh.

Several of you thinking prices on current GT4 will go up when the new one is announced... just going to say you wouldn't make for good economists.
The new one could literally just be a 2019 model year of the 981 for more money and it would still depress the market, just for the simple fact that there will now be more cars. In all likelihood the car will be improved at least marginally, but we do know for a certainty that they will all be three years newer.
