Porsche still doing ED, or permanently cancelled?

FWIW - My understanding is that the ability to hold a car for ED following completion of build is definitely different between Leipzig and Zuffenhausen. I have heard Leipzig can manage to hold a car for multiple months (including several reports of 4-5 months). Typically, Zuffenhausen has been limited to holding cars for one month or less because of storage space limitations. I also understand that COVID has impacted hold times in both locations as PAG tries to accommodate greater variation in build schedules. Regardless of pick-up location, my understanding is that the vehicle must be completed and paid for approximately one month before delivery can take place .... give or take a couple days. I am not 100% certain on the accuracy of all the above, but am reasonably confident that the timeframes are pretty close.

This was before Build Back Bleaker, but the limitations are not that rigid.
If you push, (or are lucky) they will sit on the car for 3 months, I did that in 2019.
But a few weeks ago we picked up the Macan that was built 02-25-22 and the only pickup day that they had for us was April 28th and it was either the given date, or cancel ED…
FYI:
Contract says max Km is 6000, three times I handed back the car double or triple that.
No problem.
I received dozens of speeding tickets. None arrived but don’t try it in Switzerland.
Bring cash, your non-pin credit card won’t work in many places.
If police pulls you over, it’s often a corrupt cash deal. You do t want to be guided to the nearest ATM that’s out of paper just to discover the Amex won’t work…
Some track days don’t take credit card so again, cash.
In 2015 you could keep your car there for up to 6 months, did that with the Macan. Just had to pay Insurance ($1000 a month +\-.
In 2019 it was maximum 3 months.
I didn’t pay attention how long was available a few weeks ago when we picked up the New Macan because I only had two weeks..

I understand Porsche provides insurance to cover the value of your car when driving around Europe but what about liability insurance? My State Farm agent tells me my liability coverage for my policy does not apply in Europe. Did Porsche offer an additional liability policy like Hertz or Other car rental companies offer at the time of rental?

Got word today, in the 11th hour, that I am all set for my Cayenne Turbo pickup on June 10 in Zuffenhausen (missing Burmester amp was finally sourced and installed) Will be a 3 week bucket list trip for my old man and I
Peter is spot on that you do not, under any circumstances, want to get a speeding ticket in Switzerland... holy hell was that a furious and painful lesson learned back in 2018 speaking for myself
For what it's worth Porsche held my Cayenne for 3 months, finished production on 3/11. Glad to hear factory tours seem to be resuming!

As long as we are talking about speeding - In Europe ( Switzerland/Getmany/Austria/Italy) do they give you 7-9 mph over posted limit or will they give you a ticket for 5 mph over ( Just in general ) My wife will be telling me to go faster all the time

In my experience, things have also changed. 25 years ago, when driving in rural France or Italy, speed limits were largely ignored. You could get away with SO much. In the last ten years, the average person drives much more cautiously and pays more attention to speed limits. And it's probably because checks are more frequent.

Best option for visiting is, on arrival, get a SIM card with a pre-paid plan. EU-wide roaming, including Switzerland. You should be able to find something like 25-30 GB for one month, for €30-ish.

I'll be actually using the speed limit dash warning thing on my Cayenne for the first time ever when in Switzerland, it was that painful dealing with that ticket between California and Switzerland after the fact... also the reason why I opted for the free tomtom navigation that I'll return on drop-off (that and if you lose service for Apple Maps etc)
It did a good job picking up the speed limits on roads throughout different countries, even when you can't find the speed limit yourself
