I had a pretty good race right up to when I ran out of fuel. I knew I had to be aggressive on the pitstop to catch up, but I was short fueled by about a half a lap. Math while driving is not easy for me. Starting from the back of the grid was interesting. Still saw lots of impatience and mistakes, but that let me move through the field pretty quickly. Once it settled down I could start working on finding speed, but doing that in a race is much harder than free practice. Overall, I thought the ARX was great and having 2 pit stops was really interesting. I'd like to stick with this car for a few more weeks.
As to whether to password it, I'm also on the fence. We will get a few idiots for sure and a lot more first lap incidents. The field will be bigger, but I like racing with the good group of guys we have now. We are pretty chill and can come chat about our races on Rennlist. If I'm going to race with a field of unknowns for 1/2 an hour I'd rather do it in an official series. After typing that, I think I'd prefer a passworded series and a bigger participation drive in rennlist and F-chat.
I agree with sticking with the ARX a few more weeks and I agree with keeping the password on. Hopefully we can get the numbers up a bit. It was nice that Chas had a few friends jump in.
Maybe next week we should head across the pond and try SPA. The big tracks are a lot of fun with this car.

OK, password back on!
I love the LMP, we'd run it every week if it were up to me I'll set the fuel load at 30% so hopefully it will be a 1 stop race.
I'm thinking about upgrading my g25 to a Fanatec wheel. There seems to be a lot of options. I'm looking to spend between $200 and $400. My G25 pedals are still ok and have a load cell mod, so I don't really need to upgrade those.

Any advice?
I have been debating the same thing. I have the Fanatec csr elite pedals and I think its time to get rid of the DFGT wheel. Ive been eying the 911 GT2 wheel for some time now
well iracing's default settings are for a G27, so if you can't beat them join them
Aren't the g27 guts the same as the G25? I'm looking for something with smoother force feed back and the belt driven ones look good. The GT2 looks good and seems like it uses the same guts as the non-elite ones.
have you tried the iracing forums? all sorts of stuff on sale in there.
Yep. it seems that once people get the G25-27's they hold onto the wheel and upgrade other aspects of the sim. I haven't seen a good wheel for sale locally in a long time.

bummer
actually there are a few on craiglist in LA.... some include the pedals/shifter but at that price...

I believe the G27 is a stiffer belt than the G25.
The GT2 is also a belt driven wheel.
I have used a G27 and it is a lot smoother than my DFGT. My DFGT has a dead spot at center
I've been an iRacing member for 2.5 years, and had my Cayman S since February, but for some reason I just found this thread today. I think I've found all the information I need to join you guys for the next hosted event. Any idea what the car/track is going to be?
