With a TV, make sure you set it to game mode. The trick is to minimize the lag between the display and the sim. A lot of TVs do some processing before it gets displayed and game mode shuts most of that off. Right now the best is 3D monitors with a 120hz output. If you have too much lag between the sim and the display you end up reacting to the image that is already a few milliseconds in the past.

All the monitors that are 120hz are marketed as 3D. That's it. It's all about reducing lag. TVs that do 240hz usually still can only accept a 60hz input and then upsample it to 240hz, which takes time and induces lag. Ideally you want something that can accept an incoming 120hz signal and then just display it. A big TV will be fine, and game mode will lock it to 60hz with minimal processing. Not ideal, but not bad either.

Remember, the learning curve is steep. You'll fall off the track and crash a lot, but keep at it and treat it like real track time. Start easy and add speed slowly.

Can you "reserve" slots in a hosted race? Reserve 10 or so slots for Rennlisters, leave it as no password and then open up all slots if not full 10 minutes of so before end of practice would be a nice option.. doubt that is possible though.

not that I'm aware of..it's either private (password protected) or not.

I'm a pretty new rookie, but have run a bunch of practice sessions in mx5 lime rock.
Can run safe 1:04s all day long, and if I push can get into 1:02s. Excited to learn Laguna and get into a SR that can run with you guys, but it seems the life of a rookie is pretty lonely

You bastages better not do this while I am away in Japan! In all honesty, I have no idea how I would have shipped my rig over here, and I end up working all around the clock anyways because of east coast time.
