Hmmm... I used to have issues with Nurb GP but that was several drivers ago (pre- v375.95). Front straight has all the intricate buildings. I haven't had issues there in a long time though.
Wow, looks like I have offended someone as many of my previous post have been edited ie. videos removed. Am I not allowed to post relevant videos in this thread because I work for iRacing?
Yeah, something isn't right. I found one of your old posts with a video (I think) kevin135, but something is not loading. If I try to right click where the video should be, I get nothing. Looking at the source of the page, I can see the video embed, so I think it's something with the forum's software.
R9 390. It does the same with everything turned off. They need to implement async reprojection for the older cards.
Yeah the older cards aren't well optimized. I got a big performance boost when I went to the GTX-1070 from a GTX-970 (which the 970 is supposedly above the minimum requirements for VR). Then when they rolled out nVidia's v375.95 driver, I got a HUGE boost. Most of the folks with the older cards haven't been seeing the boost that the newer cards have been getting.

I'm going to book Motegi for this next week. I'll miss Sunday's practice, my son has a LaCrosse game in the late afternoon like f*cking 90 minutes away from home (argh...)
What about Long Beach? Been a long time since we ran there. Long Beach GP this weekend, could be considered appropriate.
I'm good with Long Beach; I have a race there on Monday in another league.
AMD just released drivers with async reprojection for Steam VR, but it's only for the RX480 and 470. They added support for async spacewarp for Oculus for everything down to the 390, but I have a Vive, so I'm SOL for now.
Yeah from my understanding, nVidia + Rift were the ones leading the charge.... and that's still the magic combo for iRacing performance so long as you're on a current-gen card. AMD + Vive is still a little behind for iRacing.
Nurb GP seems to be the exception so far. I run everything on medium with the shaders on high 4x AA and AF and it keeps a consistent 90fps.
Hopefully the Khronos group VR standards will become a thing that everyone adheres to and there won't be any differences on the software end, but the hardware manufacturers will have to compete on features.

Reason: Added more!
FYI I set up a last minute hosted session for Motegi since I missed practice on Sunday. It's open to the public so probably will have some rando's in it but if you're bored, hop on
I'm thinking Long Beach unless there is serious objection?
Sounds good to me, that's a fun track. Missed Motegi only b/c I don't own that track and wanted to pick up Eldora to try dirt racing. Lots of fun sliding the car around!
