Might make sense to just use the ATLAS software since it's the official iRacing approved telemetry setup.

I downloaded the ATLAS stuff last night but haven't messed with it yet. Didn't realize I had to hit ALT-L to log telemetry, I was hoping that I could look at telemetry from a replay file.

I didn't know it was there either. I'll have to take a look. I finally got my new PC hooked up and it's really nice to be able to see everything. The magnified mirror to see what's happening a second back is pretty cool too. I'm over driving a little now that it's so clear though but I love Sebring! Registration for the 48 hrs opens tonight. Anyone doing a session tonight or tomorrow night?

Yes it stores everything in a telemetry, not I think iSpeed, which I had installed too uses the same directory but I think its a different file format. Also I think iSpeed might have some kind of way to see others in the session, I need to look again but I thought I had someone else's file on my machine and I never shared with them.

iSpeed is two components, you run the iSpeed HUD and it starts recording as soon as you start the game. You then use Lap Analyzer to load your laps. And to compare with others, you look up in their data-mart for the same car at the same track.

Here's a better explanation from their website.

The iSpeed Lap Analyzer will allow you to compare your laps, and even better, it will let you compare your lap against other people who have driven your track/car combination. Unless you are a very fast driver, there's probably a lap in the Datamart that you can learn from.

I like that the hud speaks your laptimes to you as you drive.

Got the CSW up and running. First impressions:

- It's beautiful
- It's very heavy, but very solid feeling
- It's a bitch to set up. Not plug-and-play, to the extent my G27 was. Firmware, centering, fighting with iRacing.... took over an hour to where I was able to turn laps.
- Force Feedback is STRONG. A LOT stronger than my G27.

That last bullet also seems to mean I'm slower. I hit a bump and the wheel gets practically ripped out of my hands. More than once, in a test session around Sebring, did I have a hard bump induce a spin simply because it jerked the wheel. Going to have to tailor the FFB strength.

I watched some video reviews and they say when you wreck you should do like in the real car take your hands off the wheel as this one is strong.

I'm trying to picture what my wife would say if I told her I got injured crashing my virtual race car.

Haha at least he's wearing pants when he races... I don't wear any, for weight savings. LOL

Jim, talk to Robert DeGroff about the CSW settings. It needs to be set up just right for max realism... And you can expect to be a little slower with it because of the realism but I think it translates much better to real life.

Got my new video card in and working. The displayport connection to my side monitors is not working now, so I'll be in the Rift for the next event. Good news is that the new video card is able to eliminate almost all the judder and artifacts. It has highlighted the other weak spots in my system which I now feel the need to update. I'm clinging to branches as I slide down this slippery slope.
