I know you guys have seen me lurking/posting in here but not racing with you. HoboJoe really helped get me up to speed with rookie questions in early March when I signed up for iRacing. Thank you Bobby! I just got my C license today, took me just under a month having very limited time to practice(I have a 2 year old) but after 11 races (including 2 wins!) I got it. I am only 0.5 from my B license which means I can now focus on learning the RUF so I'm looking forwarding to running with all you guys very soon maybe even this weekend(if I have the track).
Well this is odd, I can see you guys are signed in but all I can do is watch... and even then, the counter just keeps resetting. If I can't get in, in the next couple, I'll host another session.
I just didn't want to be "that guy" in the RUF with no clue how to drive that car or the track of the week and ruin the driving for the guys who have been at it longer than me.
Since I have limited time to sim I couldn't try to learn two tracks and two cars at the same time. By getting my C and B License I can drive the RUF in both the RUF Cup/World Sports Car Series and the Rennlist league. Getting my license up also lets you guys know I'm not a rookie who is going to turn in on you in a turn.
Jenner,
Just by what your saying you are a head of many of the group. A number of us just started at the end of last year beginning of this. Over the last couple of weeks most of us are within a second to second and a half of the fastest person.
I have been running my first MX5 series in parallel I should be getting my C license soon, but last nights race sucked, I have to go back and watch the reply not sure how I went off, started 3rd ended up 7th.
If anything just come join the practice sessions and start running with us.
I know how it works. I just didn't want to be "that guy" in the RUF with no clue how to drive that car or the track of the week and ruin the driving for the guys who have been at it longer than me. While I honestly and truly appreciate the sentiment behind your actions.... I can tell you from being in this service since 2008 that ever since they introduced the fast-track system, license class no longer has any real meaning or relation to driver cleanliness or safety.
I ran around by myself for an hour and logged What's a good lap around there with default weather? I was averaging in the low 31's but squeaked a 30.6.
Never been on this track what configuration are we running?
