Rennlist iRacing thread
I thought it didnt slide anymore and they removed all the rotation in the car. I changed my setup to something that would have destroying the car in turn 1 at Daytona and it is still to pushy for my taste. The good news is the new guys will find it much easier to keep the car on the racing surface compared to before and hitting curbs or putting a wheel off or two isn't automatically a loss of control.
I'm having trouble finding my groove in the RUF 'Track'. In some ways it's better, but I'm having trouble with downshifting and making the front end stick. Could only manage 2:01.8 at Sebring and I can feel that there is more speed there, just can't find it.
The biggest changes I've noticed are:
1. It is far less bouncy than it
2. much more stable throttle on (doesn't want to oversteer)
3. Downshifting has a VERY narrow window and its lower in RPM than you would expect for something that rev's to 9k.
4. It has a ton less engine braking so you cant just lift thinking the car will rotate at lower speeds.
5. You can run a ton less rear wing and be stable.
That said, I'm struggling, I was mid 2:02s compared to 2:00 previously with an optimal in the mid 1:59s.

Justin check this thread and see if it helps:

Apparently something about the app.ini file being edited.

At first I thought it was my shifter that was defective, breaking hard in T1 at Daytona while downshifting from 6 to 2 isn't working for me, very annoying, when I expect to be in 2nd I'll sometime be in third which of course is no good, so I keep checking my dash to see what gear I'm in but it is less than ideal. I'll try to play with the app.ini settings tonight.
I like the new setup, although that's probably got more to do with the fact I was driving with absolutely no FFB prior to last night... It was nice to be able to see Tom and Justin for more than 3 turns.
Best I managed was a 2:02.7 but there's lots of room for improvement. I'm excited to be semi-competitive now that I can feel the car... This Clubsport setup is really communicative.
After some setup tweaks last night, Kevin (not a league member, just a local Tony and I know) was able to run a 2:00.669 IIRC. I'll probably host again tonight dep on what the old lady wants to do.

I'll share my setup. Keep in mind I'm not good at iRacing setups for some reason but this one seemed to fix the car a bit compared to the baseline. The two fast guys last night were running near stock which amazes me considering I could not get it to rotate but after driving the Skippy I probably wasn't aggressive enough with the trail braking.
I tried the setup that Kevin shared last night (2nd fastest guy IIRC) and it was completely different from baseline. Lots more rotation; probably too much. He made the comment that it lost grip after a few laps. I think that's something we will have to worry about more with the new tire model. Supposedly they wear a lot more quickly and won't tolerate as much abuse (sliding, spinning, etc). Haven't had time to run many laps with the new car yet, just what I've heard.

... figures, right when I have a couple minutes to break away to try out the new build!
