X-post - someone just posted the general discussions, Facebook to by Oculus Rift.

Should I order the DevKit2 before Facebook gets their hands on it?

IMHO there is a lot of irrational fear from the Facebook deal. I felt the same way for a moment when I read that, but realistically what do we think is going to change? Is the fear that facebook is going to re-engineer the product into a social media and ad delivery device? Are they going to knock back the hardware quality? Is there a market for such a device? I think not.
I would have preferred that Oculus went IPO and I could invest in it directly because I think VR is the future. The facebook guys came to the same conclusion, but have the resources to just buy the whole thing. Realistically, I think that oculus will act with a lot of independence from facebook and with a hell of a lot more financial resources. It will speed up development and improve the overall quality of the final product.

Uggh miserable race for me. I think I picked up a bit of right rear damage in the T1 melee. Jim tagged me as everyone was getting back on track. I could not keep the rear end from sliding out on left handers.
I pulled a sweet hail mary pass on Sean the first time and managed to stick it; I think to both of our surprise. The second pass I did must have cut into the "pit lane" which I guess includes the apron and gave me a whopper of a penalty for unsafe pit entry. After that I tore out of my pit stall and got another penalty for speeding. It was fun racing while I was under control. Sonoma will be better.

I NEED to finish ahead of Tom next week to regain my podium. It's on!
Replay is recording now. Looks like there was a pretty serious battle towards the front most of the race!
