Rennlist iRacing thread

I will vouch for Tom. I told him to join along with one of my shop techs Kyle. Tom is a long-time Grand-Am (now IMSA) pit road official and iRacing buddy of mine. During Grand-Am races we used to discuss iRacing setup and how much we wish we were driving instead of the nuts behind the wheel of our cars.

IIRC, Justin was running 1:58s the other day... in the dark. Damn!

I've been practicing with the driving line on... It's very easy to screw up a lap at Sebring.
So I'm sitting at work, watching the D24 livestream and looking at the timing and scoring page, and marveling at the times compared to last week on iRacing.
For instance:
911 RSR fast lap in real life to this point: 1:45.624 (Patrick Long)
RT12Track weds: 1:43.556 (Tom Reynolds)
The difference?
Fear.

I do notice some of the in car there is a couple of different lines they are using, not sure if it it is they are just defending or that is the line they take, mostly in the infield they seem to hug the inside corner.

I beat Pat Long last time he ran with us as did Justin. He's a very cool guy. Unfortunately in real life, things would be very different as I would be glad to be within 5 seconds of his lap times all other things being equal...for the same reason, fear and then factor in talent.

Not that I got to see much of it from the 6+ seconds back. But the replay was great from my seat.

Fear is a big part of it no doubt!

Sorry Porschezen for the lap 14 incident. I was excited I finally had someone to race with and cooked it in T2. It was totally my fault, and I really didn't want to pass you that way.
I ran alone almost the whole race and there is absolutely no way you can catch 2 cars or more alone at Daytona.
