Replaced the over boost valve with an adjustable boost controller. I don’t necessarily want to add anymore boost, but more control the boost. I bought a pair of billet aluminum clamps for lights and modified to make a mount for the controller. Way cheaper than me making something from scratch.

After installing rebuilt trans and motor, my speedo did not work. I thought the cable was bad since everything was rebuilt. Unfortunately, it was not the cable, but rather the plastic speedo drive gear in the trans, which was broken. I don’t want to point fingers, but after spending a better part of a day trying everything up my sleeve to remove the broken gear….. which I did by way of wood screw, long angled needle noise pliers and a hammer. It appears that the metal insert collar was put in incorrectly and was not aligned with the set screw. I filed down the burs and cleaned out the alinement hole and installed the new $120 plus gear. I am very happy to say I now have a working speedometer.

Frustrating and an unwanted expense and task to fix, but at least working now.
Reminds me of when I first bought an Integrale. Flew from UK to Germany to pick it up and drive it home through Europe.
When I got it, the speedo didn't work. Made it a bit of a lottery as to how fast I was driving it all the way home!
Mostly, I settled on the speeds of the Mercs and BMWs on the main roads, assuming they were going faster then they should, but not too much faster

rutthenut.....I have been driving similarly without a speedo, just hang out for a sports car to come by and follow.
Unfortunately, my frustration has been growing. There isn't any need of urgency on Walkers end to fix the ECU chip issue. I told them 5 months ago the modified chip didn't work and they didn't believe me. I had to pay for a stock chip so we could have a base line. The stock chip works as it should. My issue is that the air/fuel ratio is 13.5 when in the boost, which is to lean. One would think that a modified / tuned chip for the added HP would have the programming in it to add fuel. With that said, I am still waiting for an answer if the chip I sent back (5 weeks ago) was corrupt and if they are sending me a new chip. Walkers says they have built numerous motors to my configuration so I don't understand what the problem is. Also, not happy about the speedo drive gear and a small oil leak from the newly built transmission.
All in all, Walkers Garage has been good to deal with, even with all the delays and issues, I just dont like paying for something and then having to fix myself. Hopefully they send me a chip so I can tune the car and enjoy it. If not, my buddy here in the States has a back up to fix the issue, but its at a cost.

I made a decorative aluminum cover to replace the plastic one on the intake manifold mount. The plastic cover mounts were missing and haven’t had any luck finding replacements.

I purchased a 2 in 1 gauge that has both boost and air/fuel mixture. I figured I would wire and plumb the system permanently and leave mounted in glove box.
Walkers Garage is sending me a different manufactures tuned chip and I found a local tuner with an awd dyno, so I am hoping that chip works properly and minimum tuning is needed, fingers crossed.

Latest update , I received the new ECU tuned chip and installed. The new Chip is an improvement. The instructions are to boost the the fuel pressure up to 43.5 psi from the 36, which would make anything run more rich. The new adjustment made it so the the engine would not idle and you had to give full throttle to start. I reported back the issues to Walkers and they had me adjust the "Tick" screw on the back of the ECU to see if the car would idle. I played around and got the engine to idle with a bit of oscillation. The engine wanted to die when trying to accelerate under load.....I adjusted a bit more and got the car going. Once going the car ran well and the air fuel ratio dropped to reasonable 11.5 to 12.5 under full boost of 12lbs. After running the car, the engine idled better , I am at the point, I can take it to the awd dyno / tuner and let them dial things in......bottom line, this car is insanely fun to drive and cant wait to see what its like tuned.

Just waiting on a few parts to arrive next week.
I found a used Map 1 sensor in Bulgaria of all places and it should be here soon.
I wanted to replace the repaired sensor I had to make sure it isn’t causing any issues with air/fuel ratio, before I take the car to be tuned. If all goes well, I am hoping to have car tuned in less than two weeks.

Received my parts and installed the 1 bar map sensor and the car ran the same, so I can eliminate the map sensor as an issue. With that said, next Tuesday is dyno/tune day and hopefully after that it will be time to just drive it.
