My Plat EH is on the boat to RI but my SA says it has a stop sale because of Bose AMP, anyone has any idea how long will it take to get the part?

2–3 weeks in my experience with Charleston SC dealer. Was trying to buy a incoming MY 2023 but it was held at the port waiting for Bose amp. In the meantime I found a pre owned that met my needs and saved $35k in the process. Received a call from the SA 3 1/2 weeks later saying the Cayenne was on the lot.

Our Cayenne arrived at the dealer on 9/24. It’s awaiting the Bose amp “chip”. So far there is no ETA on this missing part, and the vehicle may not be sold until the part is installed (which we are told can be done in a minute in the showroom).
It’s very frustrating. The vehicle is ready to be delivered yet we can’t buy it until it’s complete. We are hoping it’s any day now as we’d really like to have use of the car. We have not finalized the transaction and I don’t believe they are willing to sell it, and title it to us until it’s complete.

And the shortage is across many, if not all, automobile makes. I’m told the amp supplies sound to all of the vehicle's safety systems/alerts and therefore the car cannot be sold without it.

We were told the same thing about the amp being connected to safety alert systems which is why it can’t be sold until fitted with the part.

This is apparently a VIN driven process. The amp for my Bose was only a few days. Keep the patience. The Cayenne is worth the wait.

^ Thanks 356fan3! We’ve had a bunch of Porsches since 2013 (I think this is #11) and our first Cayenne. I really like the Macan (our first Porsche SUV) and hope we feel the same about the Cayenne.
We are already at 2 1/2 weeks waiting till for the amp. Hoping it’s soon!

Having said that, I do like the Macan a lot. I feel like the best Macan is the turbo 4, as I call it the worlds nicest Golf R (which at that point it almost is, except the macan has a longitudnal engine layout). When I owned a GTi and got a Macan Sport as a loaner, I felt like I was in a larger, taller version of my GTi. Which was no bad thing!
In any event, fingers firmly crossed that this Bose amp thing doesn't hit my car. It went to V250 almost two weeks ago and goes to V260 on 10/21. Really want it delivered in 2022 for the tax credit.

Audio specialist here. It is unfortunate that this is the case, but this is the world we live in now. Same deal happened with Mercedes. Parts shortages caused them to cancel Burmester on any model that isn't an S Class. My suggestion if you care about audio.. don't worry. Find a good audio specialist to help with a simple upgrade. Our Stage-1 package at our shop is a DSP Amplifier powering and processing the OEM speakers. This allows us to get more volume, but also have control over the signal via EQ, delay, crossovers, etc. to do a custom tune that is catered to the car/setup/user. A properly tuned DSP is the single largest improvement you can make to a car audio system. Id bet that for a similar amount of money, a simple upgrade like this done by the right shop will have an end result that sounds much better than what Bose offered, which frankly, shouldn't be hard at all to beat lol. We do this same upgrade to the Burmester system with great results.

The GM told us the missing amp will not be available until at least November. They received their “amp allocation” and none were for the Cayenne. They just delivered 3 Macans that waited a month and a half for their missing amps.
We are hoping for better news in early November but there’s nothing we can do, so we wait.

Is it possible to complete the finance agreement pending Bose amp delay? Trying to hedge the interest rates. Ex if car is available nov 1 but waiting on Bose would it be realistic to “buy” and lock the rate.. ?

I would not think it’s possible if the vehicle is not yet part of the dealers inventory until it’s complete.
You should ask your dealer. Sometimes they get creative. Good luck!

Needmoregarage is correct. The vehicle is not in dealers inventory until the stop sale is lifted. FWIW, auto loans haven’t gone crazy (yet). With a FICO score of 740+ you can get 4.10% up to 72 m around here in SC. And many banks will grant approval now and lock the rate for 30 days.
Talk to your banker.

You'll like the Cayenne a lot. The PDK in the Macan isn't nearly as smooth for around town driving and the Cayenne has more aplomb about it. It feels more substantial and while it is less capable than the Macan, it's still very capable.
