Got a note from my SA today. Turbo order locks tomorrow and will be delivered in December. I had ordered tinted tail lights but the option changed to clear (same on configurator) so I deleted them (I like the tinted but not the clear).

Any info on the GTS? I’m still deciding between S and Turbo. Wondering what the GTS might offer.

Just got a call from my dealer. SOME GOOD NEWS - they are cautiously optimistic that my Cayenne will be delivered in late September (it arrived in US a few days ago)

Anyone else hear this ????

My car landed in Rhode Island on the 4th and is scheduled to be picked up by transport the 14th. My dealer said they have not heard they will be arriving early however it seems to be way ahead of schedule.

My car arrived in Rhode Island on 9/4 and it currently says “Port handling - administrative hold”. I’m assuming that’s because they have not received CARB approval yet?

Dude. Congratulations. I am extremely jealous.

Still no word on our lock date, which has long come and gone (supposed to be August 3, then later, August 17). My wife and I have come to refer to this car as the Phantom Porsche. We've been in this process for well over a year. Our SA keeps reassuring us all is well for December delivery. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt due to his tenure and experience at the dealership. He's The Man, say all involved.

Porsche has pushed us back three times already. Do we have the stomach for a fourth? Maybe. Who knew it would be so hard to get a company to take our $150K? Porsche is one arrogant SOB manufacturer. You will take what we give when we give it, they seem to say, or you can take a hike.

Hang in there. My SA is also a long time Porsche sales guy. He sent me the document this week that stated that the freeze point was reached - this was after many delays but the estimate on delivery date has not changed. I went through a slightly similar experience with my 991 Turbo and it ended up showing up 4 weeks early. In this case, I'm OK if it doesn't show up until end of December/beginning of Jan as my X5M lease ends in Jan and irrationally I don't want to "pay" for both for the potential 2-3 weeks (the financial difference tiny).

Your build looks great and I am sure it will be a great vehicle - worth the wait.

Thanks. It’s good to get a little reassurance from someone who’s been there.

If worse comes to worst and we’re still on the sideline when yours arrives, we’ll just live vicariously through you. Maybe you’ll take pity on us and drive that thing down to Texas so we can ogle it.
