Nice indeed. Thanks to all the people who submitted a report to NHTSA. That got their attention, and then they got a bit of help finding that Porsche has issued wide recalls for the problem in several other countries. NHTSA is asking for an explanation as to why that wasn't done in the US at the same time 4 years ago.

Good news, power to the owners!

Yep. And it just ups the precedent for future owners that have this issue. I think the goodwill in this case and others is absolutely an admission of guilt and responsibility.

Thanks...

We did the plenum and the magnesium valve covers during the process here at Wheel Dynamics, we asked if they wouldn't mind installing the new covers during the re-assemble during the process, they didn't mind..

Default full recall for this

Same boat as you....Cayenne S engine replaced last year. After lots of arguing w/ Porsche I got my bill down from $28k to $7.5k....looks like full recall is finalized.
You should be able to get full reimbursement:

Have you tried getting your 7.5K back? Just asking since I'm only out $1,200 but 7.5K... wow

I do have a motor for sale...

Not kidding, if anyone is interested in a 2011 Turbo motor for Cayenne or even Panamera.

Hit me up!

I just got off the home w/ Porsche NA customer service. They haven't finalized the notice I guess but I told them I'm here reporting the issue and standing w/ my hand out expecting a refund. She is supposed to email me a form and I'll need to submit w/ proof of the repair and expenses. Glad I have 19 pages of emails documenting it, a 16 page repair estimate showing all the total parts, and a 12 page invoice where each and every engine part is condensed to one unit cost.

I'm going to tell them I want interest on my expenses too.
