This is interesting, did you maintain the car at the dealer as well? I was denied goodwill, but never had them check out anything other than warranty repairs. Thinking of going to a different dealer for my next purchase because of that.
no, it was actually the 2nd time I brought the car to this dealer. 1st time was warranty work, and coolant started to leak next day after I picked up the car. They said they haven't touched anything and only worked on exhaust, so must've been a coincidence

I just last week go the low coolant level message. I can smell the coolant as well, more strongly from the passenger side. 2014 83000 miles. CPO expired 12-2-2021. Let the games begin...

Now you made me mad, because they didn't cover it for me. I tried to get Chris to see if it was covered and he said it wasn't part of the extended diesel warranty. I believe it was the EGR cooler.

Just to update everyone, I paid for the repair out of pocket. PCNA and the dealer had a pretty firm stance that the repair was not covered under the Diesel Extended. And it was about $1800 out the door.
In the conversations with PCNA, I had them provide exact part clarification what the Diesel Extended covered.

Take it as you will, this is just a guideline from them:

Watching this thread with interest. I think I can detect a faint whiff of coolant when I park in the garage after driving, but the level is between min and max and I don't see the fittings suggested weeping. Plan to ask my indy at my next oil change this week if they see anything.

I highly recommend looking at it asap if you still have a warranty and smell coolant.

There are two concurrent warranties. One is more comprehensive than the other:

Extended Emissions Warranty Information:

The vehicle has an Extended Emissions Warranty that runs for 10 years or 120,000 miles from the original in-service date. Please see your Porsche Dealer for additional information including the vehicle’s in-service date.

In addition, and concurrently, the Extended Emissions Warranty runs for 4 years or 48,000 miles (whichever occurs first) from the date of modification or first dealer resale post-modification.

For me, looks like I just exited the golden ticket warranty in November - Your vehicle was modified on 2017-11-16 and 96918 miles. Please see your Porsche Dealer for additional information on the vehicle's post-modification dealer re-sale date.

I had to go back and check as I thought I had some coverage through 2023, but looks like the mileage is too much.

I have both the 4 and 10 year warranty still running on my 2014 CD and was just quoted $5700 (canadian) for this fix. Needless to say i am floored by the cost and asking for more details. Have been told warranty does not apply

Should i be escalating to Porsche Canada?

Its up to you, but doubtful Porsche Canada would be able to do anything since this is outside of the warrantied items. Honestly, it might be work calling an independent shop for that kind of money. I paid 1800 usd and they gave me a loaner for 2 weeks.

I'm honestly thinking i might just take it back and keep topping up the coolant at this point. Does this issue eventually get worse? or is this something i can potentially live with?

That price seems crazy, as mine was around $1800 usd as well. Maybe find another dealer or an indy.
