Default 2011-2014 Cayenne GTS vs Turbo vs S

Hey All,

Thinking about a 2011-2014 Cayenne GTS, S or Turbo.

Any opinions? Any thoughts on maintenance issues/reliability among the 3? Preferences?

Thanks in advance!

Rick

I wanted a GTS but changed to Turbo because of that extra power. Most GTS don't come with PDCC or PTV plus, so all in all the turbo will be more value and more car for the same money. The GTS however I think look better and have the black headlights by default.

Don't ask me because I ain't buying another cayenne after this. That transfer case problem is a real problem you might want to consider.

Rick - you might consider browsing the stickies at the top of the forum - there is one addressed right to you. And there won't be any significant difference between them.

Read through the stickies, good info (guess I should have done that first)!

Still looking for any personal experiences.

Thanks!

To add, I’d recommend trying them all out. They’re all quite different (maybe the Turbo and Turbo S model less so) in personality so it really depends on what you’re looking for. You have proponents from both camps on this forum who will tell you why theirs is best. Each to their own.

^This. I LOVE my Diesel, our first Cayenne. I'm shopping for another .2 upper end performance Cayenne with all the goodies now. Maybe sell our M/T Targa that wife doesn't ever feel comfortable driving.

Thanks for all of the replies, still interested in opinions!

I am leaning towards a well kept 2011 Turbo with PDCC, PTV. Owned a 2009 GTS, which I loved. I'll be interested to see the difference between the two.

Thanks!

Had a gts switched to a turbo. Had much more power but missed sound and handling a little. Then sold turbo and got turbo s and added full akra exhaust. Forgot about the gts and turbo. I think cayenne needs the torque in turbo as it’s a heavy car but at the end of the day there all good.

I love my 14 GTS and have never wished for more power - I have a 911 Turbo for that. To me the GTS is the sweet spot but I’m sure the Turbo would be awesome too. I just didn’t need that much from my SUV.

The one I think I have found has PDCC and PTV+, so I think (?) I have the handling sorted.
The GTS I had was very eager under foot, but I think the Turbo will be at least as eager, right?

"To me the GTS is the sweet spot but I’m sure the Turbo would be awesome too. I just didn’t need that much from my SUV."

This is the one thing I keep thinking. The GTS seemed to be the perfect mix of ridiculous handling for a big car, and perfectly mated engine,
torque, suspension to its size.

We shall see, I will report back with further observations!

Thanks!

You should drive a 958 GTS also to compare to the 958 Turbo. There is quite a big difference between the previous 957 GTS and 958 GTS ( ~ 500lbs less for starters!)

Let us know either way
