Definitely not the Y-pipe, but some return line going into the thermostat housing. Looks like probably the gasket/o-ring probably bad, but I can't figure our which orange this is or what part number olit is.
It's the seal on pipe #4
Actually thinking this is a simple o-ring that can be had at any auto store. Just want to make sure the correct size.
Having encountered the “coolant display defective” problem, I had previously had my shop replace the front and back temp sensors, with no effect. The cost of that made me squeamish about paying for the next (and most recommended intervention) step-replacement of the thermostat (and water pump, and serpentine belt). A great video on YouTube (
) helped me a lot and I did the work myself. So far, it seems to have worked. Things I would have done differently: purchase the coolant replacement tool on Amazon to put a vacuum on the coolant system and replace with positive pressure.
Always seems to be the right front leaking, will need a scan tool to diagnose it's and fairly simple now that I have messed with it twice and replaced everthing..PM if you need assistance.
Avoid Bilstein, Arnott and RMT.
Why avoid Bilstein and Arnott? RMT I have not heard of or seen those. I just replaced the 2 fronts with Arnott units and so far so good. I am leaving tomorrow for a long road trip in the Cayenne. Going from NY to Arizona for a Mountain biking trip. Then will go visit some family in Las Vegas after. So going to really test out this suspension

Wow. Report back for sure I'm by NY also, but was thinking of refreshing the shocks all around with Arnott
Was sick of looking at scratched aluminum door sills after 85k miles, so took a bit of bar keepers friend, water, and a scotch brite pad to them. With a bit of elbow grease they turned out better than I’d hoped! Also noticed while car was parked on a hill that the stainless muffler was pretty dingy looking, so used some bar keep friend on it too, and brought it almost back to factory finish. Wife says I have a problem
I had no idea / I didn't think the "lower" model versions of the Cayenne i.e. Cayenne S (base model no?) had those same quad exhaust tips as say, the Turbo and GTS guys. I mean I love the look. But did you maybe add those? Just curious!
Bought a 2014 S today. It was a one-owner trade-in at the local Porsche dealership and had been maintained there since new religiously. Pick it up Thursday.. Now to figure out what I "have to" change on it. LOL

I didn't even think to take any picts. Oy. Will grab some on delivery. It has the premium package with the Bose system, PASM, roof rails, the turbo wheels, and heated/ventilated seats up front. Nothing too crazy.
I have been looking for a while and ended up struggling with what I really wanted in colors, panoramic roof, and options vs a good service record and mechanics vs some of the real craziness in the marketplace. I wanted the 4WD of the 958.1 and ultimately had it down to one that had every option, including ones I didn't care about, with no service history (seats still looked new but something felt off as it was seemingly too clean) vs one that had the service history, was extremely clean, and good comfort options. I often get bored/aggravated when tech lags behind, so I was concerned that having the older tech would ultimately grind on me. Despite the pano roof being a must have and not my intended colors, the pricing, religious service history, and unblemished nature of this one won out (and i was tired of chasing ones that did not turn out to be what people said they were). My thought was that it would be comfortable, but the lack of some of the tech would give it a more timeless feeling (assuming I can get the stereo sorted with MR12Volt... LOL).
I used ZEP 505 degreaser ... sprayed it on and let it sit a bit, then a toothbrush to loosen everything up, then just a rinse, great stuff. Yes, I believe it has the 4 zone. We picked it up in SC, and drove back to Texas with it .. all the vents and drains were pristine when I went through those ..
