Replaced the PCV/Oil Separator with a new unit from FCPEuro. Easy job...except for the lost T30 head somewhere down in the lower undertray area.

I did get a sample and sent it off to blackstone for analysis, will be interesting to see what they think. 89,000 mile 2011 engine.

If it's good, the build will start.

This is why I use an oil extractor. No mess and I don't have to crawl around pulling panels and having oil drip on the cross member.

Might be able to source it from somewhere cheaper. Does the job for my 2016 CD. Added benefit of either hand pump or compressor air for vacuum.

Ah, you belong to the dipstick masterrace. Us poor v8 boys have no such luxury!

I did my first oil change on my CD the other day and was amazed at two things. First, the force at which the warm oil comes out of the drain port. And Two, the amount of splatter around the oil catch pan. And my "oil catch pan" is 2'x3' and can hold quite a bit of oil. Next time some Pig Mat is going down.

The real bummer is that I did it outside the garage (never again) and got the splatter on the asphalt. Clean up is still in progress !!

Swapped winter tires for summer. You'll have me to thank for the snow on Saturday.

Also started the swap on the wife's Q7 but had a balancing weight come off as I was moving the wheels, so I took a couple in for rebalancing (a second one had a chalk X on it, so I'm thinking I marked it for rebalancing last fall...)

It's *so* easy to change from above with a good extractor. You don't even need to take your suit coat off.
