I went Launch company website and saw so many products with the name 'X431' in it. There is a bluetooth version similar to icarscan x431 discussed here. Also there are some ordinary looking scanners. I wonder anyone try this:Launch X431 Creader VIII Code Reader Creader 8 ENG/AT/ABS/SRS EPB SAS Oil Service Light resets https://www.amazon.com/Launch-Creade...A1C6KRT5EMIPWX
In the Q & A, I found this:
Question:
Any particular reason why the creader 8 is worth $100 more than the 7001? i mainly need to reset oil & maintenance light and read dtcs on ,11 porsche.
Answer:
Hi, Stevay2005, Glad to serve you , Since CR 7001 only has Oil Resets Functions , but our Launch Creader VIII support ENG/AT/ABS/SRS EPB SAS Oil Service Light resets so many functions. Launch Creader VIII is much functional than 7001. it is a Pro tool.

It seems the Lauch Team is quite confident on Porsche support. If this works fine, it can avoid all the hassles to download app to the right cell phone and right android or ios version.
Could not find more details, but here is a comparison between VIII and VII+:

It says it support Standard and non-standard OBDII compliant vehicles.

I plugged in the dongle to my wife's car and ran the EZdiag app. I ran the autoscan (which made the car's computer freak out and it is displaying all kinds of errors on startup.) After trying to download a new package it now refuses to work and only displays this message after connecting via bluetooth:
"Disaccording between the software serial No., Please download and upgrade again or contact local dealer."
Has anyone had this happen yet and if so any fixes? Nothing drives me more crazy than when DRM routines entirely disrupt the user experience to a legitimate customer!!!

No doors,
What platform did you use for the software - Android or iPhone?
If Android - uninstall everything. Poke around with a directory editor - and look for EZDiag and any other directory it may have created - then delete then. My WAG - you downloaded the software using the scan-code on the packaging? That's old software.. and when it went to install the new software it saw that and barfed. There are somewhat more detailed explanations if you use the help feature or go to their website.
The Android version is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...bilediag&hl=en

Thanks, Don. I did in fact use android. It ran fine for a while until it pulled that newest package, then immediately barfed on me. I will give that .apk on the market shot. FYI- I emailed their tech support about it Saturday, but have heard nothing back.

Take a look at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1024638701034299/ (you want to join the group..) There are several discussions about this. Remnants of the old program hang around unless you do this - and they cause the newly downloaded program to barf.

Has anybody tried using this to change the air suspension values yet? For some reason my front suspension seems to sit noticeably higher than the rear.
I'm willing to be the guinea pig for it (for 958's), I did lower my 955 CTT with Durametric and know how to calculate / recalibrate the values. I will report back with a writeup if it does in fact work for me.
Another question for those who already have this; do I need to buy additional software to use this function in the app, or can I just buy the $220 one on Amazon and run with it?
Thanks in advance!

Just received mine from eBay and got it for $190 via Make Offer. USA shipped. Got the SW installed and struggled with making the 8 initial choices since it's a one & done thing. Hopefully it's more reliable than my Durametric.

I opted for Porsche (duh), Toyota (Wife's Highlander) and 3 other makes along with RESETBLEED, RESETOIL & RESETBRAKE. Having to choose the special tools w/o being able to see what's really needed it a PITA since some of those features may already be covered in the vehicle specific SW.
