Hi. My 2005 cayenne has one of these each side in the front grille. I thought they May be parking sensors but it has factory fitted ones. There is one wire going into each unit but I can't see where the wires go. Any ideas? Thanks

 

Not factory-installed. Rip it out....

 

My guess would be some sort of radar-trap evading mechanism. Or at least an attempt at one.

 

Laser jammers probably. Is there a built in radar/laser detector?

 

Some sort of hideous after market crud...be gone with them!

 

Lasar jammer. There should be two or four. I would suspect they are out of date. Look for a rocker switch somewhere. Usually above your left knee. Should also have a little light that goes green when on. I have the same looking one. Was already on the car when I bought it.

 

Pop out your grille and look for a name brand or part number on one of them. Can't quite tell from the pic but I'd also bet for a Radar Detector or laser jammer.

That's the Blinder jammer, I use one on my NSX and use a Laser Interceptor on my CTT-S.
No way I would "rip it out", you got a nice upgrade there.
I'd polish the lenses a little and as mentioned previously try to locate the brainbox and the on/all switch.
