Kind of hard on the sidewall/bead mounting and re-mounting multiple times. I'd just skip the rotation. My '06 CTTS wears pretty evenly.

Wow - no charge - I can understand no charge for a straight rotation but a good deal if they are dismounting/mounting 4 tires.

I wish there was a list published someplace for all oem wheel weights. It would be nice to know the differences from that standpoint.

Went by Discount Tire today and they recommended Nitto NT420S 285/40s.

Total is 1128.00 with tax. This isn't the 275/40 size recommend by Porsche. Salesman says they are about 1"
taller in sidewall height, and should offer a more comfortable ride. The recommended 275/40 size has a 28.7 diameter. The Discount Tire recommendation (Nitto NT420S 285/40s) have a diameter of 28.94. The speedometer will read 65 when I am doing around 67. If all four tires are the same will the diameter difference cause problems with the cars programing etc.? Thanks for any input.

I have the Pirelli P Zero 275/40/ZR20 106Y They seem decent but I have only owned my CTT for less than a year. Will be curious to see how the Nitto's work for you. I will need tires soon too.

They compiled some wheel weight info over on the 997 forums but doesn't seem like the SUV owners are worried about this as much as the sports car guys since wheel weight won't really affect performance of these big cars. However, sometimes suppliers like Wheel Enhancement can provide weight info.

why wouldn't reducing unsprung weight give the same suspension and braking benefits as on a smaller vehicle?

Yes I did. Discount Tire did not report any problems with balancing, but I am feeling a small bit of vibration around 70-80mph. Hope to have the car rechecked next week.

I love the 285/40 Nitto 420 tires Discount suggested. The car has a a great ride now! Sport mode is great fun.

The original 21' pirelli Rosso's that came on the GTS were a bit quicker but rode harsh and were noisy.

Your GTS looks ultra clean! Thanks for posting pics! I was thinking of the Nitto tires as well. They offer a 60k mileage warranty and my Pirellies have none! My vibration is around 82 with three bent wheels. New wheels and tires soon for me.

Make sure they road force balance them, not normal balance. My DT did this for free and has done it for free on the first rotation, but I think they charge $40 or so to road force balance. Possibly the issue with your vibration at 70.
