Default Sport Techno Tire size?

Hi guys,

I just purchased a set of sport techno wheels for our 2009 GTS. This is a staggered set of wheels with nines in the front in tens in the back. The dealer I'm buying the wheels from says that the cars were sold with the same size tires front and back which were 275/40/20.

I called Sunset Porsche for confirmation and they said the correct size is 295/35/20, But they couldn't find any evidence that staggered wheels were ever sold on our Cayennes.

Is this correct? What size tires are you using on your sport technos?

No staggered wheels on Cayenne's. Your dealer should know this.

Staggered wheels were available on the 2006 cayenne turbo S! Tire size is 275/40/20 for front and back. The fronts have the bowed out spokes to clear the larger turbo S calipers and are 9" with 60 offset. The rears are 10" with 55 offset. You have exactly what I have on my 06 CTTS. Only drawback is to rotate them the tires need to be taken off moved remounted and balanced.

I have those exact staggered sport Technos, but you are correct in that the tire size is the same all around.

Discount Tire is awesome, and manually rotates the tires each interval, and road force balances after remounting.

When they rotate do they keep 10 inch on rear and 9 inch on front?

Early generation Cayennes didn't have staggered Sport Technos. My 2004 came with 20x9 wheels all the way around from the factory. They started putting 20x10 rears on them later, although the tires were the same size all the way around as mentioned above.

You can easily see the difference when you view the car from the right angle.

jhbrennan:

My understanding is that Discount unmount the tires and remount them, keeping the nines in the front and 10s in the back.

This is correct, and they do it for no charge.
