Default MY Differences?

Ok, before I get flamed, I did go through stickies, googled, and then went through Wikipedia... there's not a concrete site showing MY differences.

So, please point me where can I get details on MY differences on the 1st gen. facelift models, including options offered?

Thanks

2003-2006 - No change other than 05-06 being anecdotally more reliable.
2007 - No production
2008 - Facelift -> Same engines but with direct injection, PDCC added to option list, anecdotally more reliable than pre-facelift, reddish brown leather option,
2009 - updated nav

Been searching too as I'm contemplating getting an 04-06S or TT or maybe an 08S for my wife. Read tons about how each year is supposed to be more reliable than the last but I haven't found anything concrete to confirm (i.e. redesigned parts).

Can anyone confirm which years can play mp3? I've read they play in 06s but not 08s which seems strange.

Cheers
Joe

I'm going to guess 2009. Which is when the nav is updated.

Thanks, was it only NAV? or any other electronics, and/or interior functions? The reason I ask is because this coincides with Porsche 997 update which had similar NAV prior and that was updated post 09.

Here is the punchline. Car drives amazing. Germans are always behind on electronics. 2009 is a touchscreen. One would hope it plays mp3 CDs at the least. Hopefully it has an aux port. Maybe a 957'er can confirm.

Plays mp3s on DVD and CDs. IPod/Aux/USB is an option.

Another update in 2011 as the chassis shed almost 500 lbs as more use of structural alum was introduced. Additionally the auto transmission added 2 more gears (from 6 to 8) and these two changes improved performance, handling and mileage.

2013 model saw the addition of the diesel in the US

There will be another facelift in the 2015 model year.

Thanks, not interested in the new models, improved mechanically, but it's uglier, smaller, and too expensive for me.

not trying to assuage you to like the 958 but I don't think they shrunk the wheelbase.

2003 - 2004 cars came with PCM 2.0 (CD-based). 2005 - 2008 cars came with PCM 2.1 (DVD-based). The 2009 and later cars came with PCM 3.0.

I think the 958s are actually longer.. but shaped so that they don't look quite as imposing.

Along with the PCM 2.1 in 2005, the Cayenne's had a few other improvements and just later revisions of the earlier 2003-2004 parts which added to reliability.
