Default '05 Cayenne Turbo - PCM Virus? Screensaver? Haunted?

So, My PCM started doing some crazy stuff. I was just driving one day, looked down at the thing, and boom. It has gone crazy. It still works and plays music. However, the screen is kinda hard to read. It dances around, and changes colors, shapes, sometimes turns off and back on. Is there anyway to fix this? I just bought a project RX7 and don't really want to waste all the money on a new headunit and that stupid most-hur adaptor

Looks like the LCD screen is shot, I think you can get replacements for around $250

Maybe even less. Radio Shack seems to have gone into the LCD screen replacement basis now as well.

It's odd, because the screen works perfectly sometimes. Othertimes, it goes all crazy. So, it isn't the LCD it'self. Maybe some controller in there or something.

Your right, its either the video controller or in the connection from the ribbon cable to the screen. Probably won't help but I'm sure you've tried pushing the 1,4,and 8 buttons simultaneously for the reset?

Had this on my 2005 and ended up replacing it.

No, I didn't. I'll give that a shot. I hope you aren't messing w/ me. Bc that sounds like something I'd tell someone as a joke.

But, I did take it out and unplug it. Put it back together, same problem. So, then I took it out and unplugged it while it was turned on. Plugged it back in and for a day it was back to nomal! Then, today, back to being stupid.

I have now (I just tried it) haha. Well, I'll probably take this thing apart sometime and see if I can get it working w/o buying anything. I just got a FD RX7 for a project, so I don't want to keep futzing around and spending money w/ the Cayenne.
