Seems like the CTTS shafts last a little longer in general. Anyone know what the differences are as they do have a different part #?

Almost 90k on our TT, pretty sure it's still the original shaft. I've had it serviced for small warranty things like rear hood struts and failing parking brake strut and I always tell them to check the cardan shaft. They (the dealer) keep telling me it's okay. *prays*

Mine just went at 136K on my '05 CS, thanks to all the info on the site to diagnose!

Best as I can tell from posts here and elsewhere, the bearing begins to go (faint tweet, which I have), and that eventually takes out the support which leads to the thumping under acceleration. So, recs seem to be replace the whole shaft, or the mount and bearing.
