Cayenne Headlight install
Hi folks,
after removing one of my headlights to replace a defective lamp.. I'm having a LOT of trouble reinstalling the headlight due to the small socket that turns the lock back to retain the lamp unit...
Feels like it's going to snap off!!! I don't want to over-tighten and risk damage..however if left in its existing state, the indicators wont flash due to the poor hold the connector has...
do we have a torque setting for this???
any tips would be a big help!!!

I don't think there is a torque setting.
I found it helpful to push the headlight assembly gently into place while turning the lock-down. Like Pervy said, it's only a little more than 90 degrees. Make sure the lock is fully down before you start.
And my brake light indicator just went off. Now I get to buy some bulbs today, I guess. I hope I'm not starting a brake light thread this evening. lol. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

I noticed when I unlocked the car today that one of the lights in the headlight assembly was out on one side. Is there a diagram of all headlights so I can figure out which one to buy? Its definitely not the main xenon or corner bulb but rather a small white one towards the bottom right. I haven't gotten any bulb out messages. Perhaps I should track down the manual.
*update* I tracked down the manual and it looks like its the "bulb for side light" Its a very small halogen. Now i need to find out how to buy it. Anyone got the part number or bulb type name? thanks!
*update 2* OK manual lists the "side indicator light" and the "side marker" as both being W5W.. but obviously one is on the bumper and the other is in the headlight assembly. Are these the same bulbs? I called sunset and they said it was "blue" and mine aren't blue.. so now I'm baffled. Can someone put me out of my misery?

Clear bulbs were available initially, but superceded to the blue ones. The blue ones are the Xenon-filled long-life equivalent. VW still uses the clear version.
N0177537 - Clear
N0177538 - Blue
I should note that the colour has no bearing on what they look like when lit. When lit up, they both look yellow.

Big thanks Tim! I was going crazy trying to figure it out. I guess I should just buy two blue ones and change the pair and be DONE with it.
When I searched on Pelican it said the part was superceded to "OEM-N01775310" so apparently there is a revised version or something.

R&R of the rear lights is much less difficult.

I actually struggled with the rear light assembly the last time I changed a bulb. It was really stuck and I felt like I was going to break something if I pulled any harder!

The bulb is the 2825 Wedge bulb or 168 wedge equivalent. I replaced mine with the PIAA XTREME white, they do look more white than OEM, you can find them around $15 the two pack of bulbs, just search PIAA 168 or PIAA 2825 XTREME white. They also start with a Blue tinge and shine very white when on.
