Porsche gets whatever leftovers VAG feels like providing.
This has been true since the beginning of time.
However, we should be grateful that VAG did provide the Cayenne access to their V6, thus giving birth to the fastest (both on track and on a ROI spreadsheet) P!g in history.

Who is going to have a 313hp V6 or a 360hp turbo diesel? Current 3.0 V6 diesel in the Audi/VW is 225hp and Porsche gets a 15hp bump for the Cayenne. 313hp would be quite a bump over these numbers. My 4.9L V10 diesel is 313 HP.

Curious how much margin there is in the stock Cayenne transmission/drivetrain when it comes to towing.
I know they still have concerns over putting the PDK into the P!g for this reason.

Could write MTM and ask them if they do a cooler upgrade or any recommendations for the Aisin tranny since 686 ft/lbs of TQ is over 100 ft/lbs than even my Turbo S has. Are all of the trannies the same or do some have more band/clutch plates in them than others? I.E. do the Turbo trans have more clutch plates than the V6 or are they all identical except gearing?

that's a really good question hahnmgh63. friend of mine had an MTM tuned RS6 w/ about 590bhp and even after they did cooler upgrade, the tranny let go after about 15Kkms. they said something like tough luck, go buy another one, we're not responsible for this, these transmissions are failing even w/o mods.
in europe, ABT Sportsline is the way to go w/ audis. when they mod your car, you're not loosing factory warranty, you just need to shorten the oil change intervals to 15Kkms.
I talked to various chiptuning companies over here and most of them said, that 650bhp and 850nm (±630 lbs/ft) is the limit for stock transmission on 955/957 turbo and turbo S.
there are a couple of gemballa modded 955s/957s around here (from 550s to 750s) and most of them already had transmission replaced under gemballa warranty. one of them (gt aero 3 750) already had it done twice AFAIK.

That's some good info Lupo. Funny thing, I also have a MTM'd RS6 and have had my tranny rebuilt stronger. There have been a lot of RS6 tranny issues with the ZF tranny, it was never designed for that much Torque. There are a few places here in the States that can rebuild them a little stronger and with a much better Torque Converter. Many Euro RS6 owners are sending their Torque Converters over here to have them rebuilt by a company called Ace Torque Converters, they did mine and it is much better than when new.

This is not a problem; see new BMW diesel engine and specs: BMW has released their tri-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine. "at low revs, the first small turbocharger ensures fast acceleration" which is optimized by variable turbine geometry. At medium revs, the second turbocharger is activated to maximize torque output. Lastly at high revs, the third turbo comes online to help the engine produce its peak output of 381 PS (280 kW / 375 bhp) and 740 Nm (546 lb-ft) of torque." Thanks to all turbochargers, the M550d xDrive sedan accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, averages 6.3 L/100km (44.8 mpg UK / 37.3 mpg US) and has CO2 emissions of 165 g/km.
