very cool...always neat to see a cayenne used for what its made for...

was it just being towed by chains or was there a bar for braking?

That looks dangerous. How was that Cayenne towing the car? Usually I see track cars on at least a flatbed trailer. I've seen some utility trailers that could hold a 944 or other small track car.

Hardly dangerous. It has a tow bar and lights in the car hooked up to the brake lights. It tows perfectly stable at 70MPH.

The wheels turn with the car and straighten out. Self centering kinda. It is very smooth. But they turn in the wrong direction when you reverse, so no reversing with tow-bar towed car but that is no bid deal. Steering lock is removed as per CCR of NASA, SCCA, PCA, etc.

This is the setup used by thousands of RV'rs to tow their cars. It is super safe, easy and no need to find a place to store a trailer. I have some cheap tires on for towing and put the race ones on at track.

It probably goes without saying, but never tow a car without steering lock backwards.
Saw the result of this on Highway 101 near San Luis Obispo.
Terrible 2 car MVA with only one driver.
Nobody seriously hurt, thank goodness.
