.....just been thinkin about this. At 400 miles/quart you'd never need to change the oil. 50 quarts/20k miles is 4.6 oil changes. Throwing in the odd filter might be useful though.

I know the last couple of pages have something to do with oil consumption but I just can't quite figure it out.....

I've only got just over 1K miles on my CS, but just came back from a 400mi freeway trip and the oil level is still at max and I've yet to add oil. I think the DFI normally aspirated V8's are just not as oil-thirsty as the Turbos (see Pop's ungodly oil consumption).

Mike, highway trips help oil consumption in this case. It's the city driving that really kills it.

New PAG guidelines, buy your new Pepper from a dealership cross country. Drive it home.
Oil consumption issue solved.

Absolutely. It's just that most of the first 600 miles had been short trips so I expected some burn off of the fuel and moisture that often accumulates with that kind of driving when I took a good long freeway trip. Combined with the expected oil consumption from those short trips, as you point out, I was a little surprised that the oil level was still at max. Not complaining, mind you....

2400 miles on the Turbo and like clockwork, 1 quart every 600miles. Just added 4th one. Will be doing long road trip next week, so maybe this will help. Taking several quarts with just in case though.

Quart # 17 - 850 miles at 9584K + some PIWIS "magic" for an hour and a half

In other news, I think I'll start working on my 10K report for the "Goodbye P!G, Hello Lexus" thread
