That price is not too bad. There have only been two 06's go through the Manheim auctions. One sold for $92,500 w/ 25 miles and the other for $86,000 with 3500 miles. The price will drop quickly after you buy - an 05 might represent a better value. If you like the car you can probably negotiate the dealer down a little. They will have access to the above numbers and will not likely go near or below $86K.
What is the sticker price?
Is the vehicle CPO?

What is the original sticker? Whatever that is.. take 15% at least off the price and that is the max that I personally would pay. I have a S with 64K miles that is 3 years old. It has depreciated by almost 45%.. the Cayennes are NOT holding their value like 911's etc.

HUH??? 'splane yo'self. I be cun-foozed.

That "quote" I gave is right what KBB is saying for my S online today... and what the dealer offered (initial wag) on trading it for a 997. Granted I have high mileage but even when I backed it down on KBB site to "normal" it only bumped the value by 2-3 grand.. so I'd say a 3 year old Cayenne with low mileage at BEST would be 40% depreciation... that really isn't "BAD" but it certainly isn't what you see on 911's. I stand by my commentary... the good -- the bad -- and the ugly of 'um.

A friend of mine just traded his 3 year old 996 cab and had a 45% depreciation as well. If you look for example at last month NA car sales you will notice 1199 units sold Porsche 977 vs. 1099 units Cayenne. With so many 997 entering the market a dropping resale value is corollary.

PAG is interested in shareholder value and selling as much units as possible. Porsche isnt the niche sports car maker that it used to be 10 years ago.

Dealers will usually use Galves when determining trade in values. You can buy a very inexpensive Galves subscripton for $8 and run your car(s) thru and see.

Also, FWIW, my 996TT ($131K MSRP, 5K miles....my garage queen) is currently "worth" $70-$75K.
It means nothing, since I'll never sell the car (sentimental reasons, it was my first Porsche).....still waiting for the EPA exemption so I can be buried in it.

Since the debut of the Boxster (the true beginning of the Dr W regime), all Porsches have been/will be 'overproduced'. That's why 993TT values are the same as 996 values (ignoring inflation, original purchase price, etc)....there are simply more 9x6, 9x7 variants on the road compared to 993.

The current marketing/business plan (PAG stopped being an engineering company when Dr W grabbed the helm) is for an "ample" supply of all Porsches, new and CPO, across all product lines and across all price ranges....a Porsche for every person.......hey, I don't write the news, I only report it. It is what it is.

I wouldn't disagree for new CPO etc. but it appears that the other gentlemen are demonstrating that PAG's production strategy is hurting the long-term residuals for those 3 or so years down the road.. thus my point that the Cayenne is not horrific or even close to some vehicles... but neither is it "the" best or even particulary noteworthy (aside from the list's endorsement) -- it may be the best of SUV's which as a class with $70/barrel oil again today are going to take some hits. Oh well, ta-mah-toe.. too-mate-oh .. we're still speaking the same language. and the Kool-aid still flows!

You can thank Mr. Bush for that ...
But if you lived in Portugal you would earn half that you earn and pay $6.5/gal, thats the current price !

Surely you meant Bin Laden and the Saudi sultans of oil? Iraq is a paltry amount of the world's oil supply... but, we digress.......
