Robbo 66,

And PAG is laughing all the way to the bank, ~$1.4Billion last year alone.
The Cayenne is simply doing exactly what it was designed to do.

obviously, eveyone is entitled to their own opinion but his motive is to get a rise out of everyone. most of the criticism of the cayenne seems to come from people who either can't afford one and/or have never driven one. expensive? yes, very. worth it? absolutely. you can say its ugly but take a look at the land rover; thats a f-ing pope-mobile. you can its not the best offroad; for 90%+ of us the only "off road" an suv ever sees is an occasional snowstorm. as reflected in the sales numbers, the publc loves it.

I guess all that matters is how do we as owners feel about our Cayenne's since it's our money and our vehicles.

For me, it was money well spent!

I promise that my motive was not to 'get a rise' out of anyone. I have not threatened anyones family or questioned their manhood. Some of these responses are incredibly vitreous.
Here in the UK, the car is considered as crass as it is ugly. Driving it however is another experience, superb. The best SUV I have ever driven. However.....and it is a monumental 'however', it remains hideously styled from every angle, and consequently shouts 'noveau riche'.
The Land Rover is indeed slab sided and 'heavy looking', but it has subtle style. it doesn't 'shout'...it doesn't need to.
PAG needed to market/produce it, I totally agree. But take away the vast US sales and it makes poor reading. Second hand values are disappointing to say the least.
The Cayenne remains the 'ugly sister', a necessary blemish on, an up to now, untarnished marque.

You post a picture of a Cayenne with the caption "More income than style" (amongst other things) and say it was not your motive to "get a rise" out of anyone?

Ahah ! agreed alex !! why do people keep doing this against the Cayenne.. I love it, and I think its not a bad move from Porsche (numbers prove it).. its the Porsche many persons (family persons) have been waiting for, and its beautifull..

Oh I get you... the Cayenne is a SUPERB driving experience, but it doesn´t look good (to you, it seems), and so, it´s sh*t, and you make fun of it... okay, you´re on the right track...

I own a cayenne TT but I thought this was quite funny, self deprecation is a facet of British humor, and I am a London native although I have spent 14 happy years here in the USA.

Uh, wrong. There have been many "blemishes" to the "untarnished" marque.

WOW! and I was always told a 944/951 wasn't a "REAL" Porsche.

I'd love to have a Cayenne!
