NGK Coils
Decided to replace all my coils as preventive maintenance based on the many failures on this forum.
Here's the interesting thing, I bought a set on RockAuto (I hope I can say their name) and based on price and previous experience I took a chance on the NGK coils.
To
my surprise, there's no branding of NGK on the coils other than the box.
They are made in Germany and have the Porsche trademark, Beru connectors, and also Borg Warner.
I haven't been able to start things up because I managed to snap the breather hose connector while trying to remove that stupid bracket for the vacuum pump.
Fortunately I have another car to tide me through till I get the replacement part.
Hope this proves helpful for other members.

I always recommend Bosch or Beru coils only, but a brand with tge reputation of NGK might be a great new alternative. Interested to hear how they perform.

Thank you for the information. I will get the NGKs when time comes.
My local dealer has once told me be careful with BERU coils as there are knock offs sold online. Especially when the real ones are just a sticker on top. I can see how anyone can just print a sticker and put it on a generic coil.

I might have to order a set too. I say screw the Beru ones as they are on what??? Like the 10th revision, maybe they've finally gotten it right but I don't have confidence in them. On most newer Audi's you might replace your coils once in the life of the car not have 10 revisions like the Beru's.
