i just got my S few days ago. How would I know in case if mine would be recalled? I mean in cases like this, would the dealer contact me? Or should I first find the problem and then tell them about it?>

Nope, nothing from Porsche in the mailbox.
Which recall - transfer case or wiring - is the letter refering to?

Ditto for PCNA. I called the 800 number at 0705A CST this morning (02/27/04). The customer service agent was very nice, but PCNA has no record of the recalls in their systems yet. Their advice...... call your local dealer. I have a call into Park Place right now.......

It was announced on our local (German speaking) news this morning and on CNN International. Over 22,000 Cayennes worldwide are being recalled.

Now that I think of it, the last time the Cayenne was in for service (Cardan shaft replacement), I was talking to one of the service techs in the shop and he told me he has to install a new wiring harness in a 3 month old Cayenne. He wasn't looking forward to that job....and neither was the owner.
I emailed my Porsche dealer, they have heard nothing yet as well.
