718 as an Autocross Tool
Yep, stock. Plus adjustable ride height, adjustable aero, and front/rear adjustable sway bars. GT3 and GT4 basically have ST-level suspension straight from the factory, which is why I think they've done so well in SS against cars that on paper looks like they should be much faster.

Also, thrust comparisons are fun, but pretty pointless.
The one that's local to me hasn't been on a rack recently, but has -2.6 or -2.7 degrees as measured by an iPhone. That's a lot by Street standards, but, to your next point, not a lot by ST standards.
I get your point that the GT cars have a lot of adjustments, but to call them "ST-level" is a stretch. They can't get as much camber as some people run in ST, nor do they have kidney-busting (or adjustable) spring rates.

Probably too early to see what breaks consistently in the GTS. GT4 has been around a bit longer.
Besides, although I bought my 718 GTS primarily as a track toy, my wife has fallen in love with it and likes to drive it around town so we get some extra value out of it. Pretty sure she wouldn't drive a car with a wing on it.
If the new new GT4 has 1.) low end torque, 2.) PDK and 3.) wing delete...I might be all over it. ( long shot)

I hit a really bad pothole in my ex 981 GTS, bad enough to bottom the front end out and bend the rim and I didn't have any strut tower damage. Several theories why the GT4 has problems. Over lowering and not enough shock travel causing excessive force on the strut tower, different front end Geo than the 981 and then maybe its just a lot of GT4 just hit the gators on track really hard.
I understand about the wife thingy. When I picked mine up she said is this for me and I had to swiftly remind her that no back seat for the grand kid. LOL

Anyone else notice on the PAG 718 configurator that all new models can get the "S" - 20” wheels? Some serious rubber coming soon; 8.5 x 20 ET 49 with 245/35 ZR 20 tires (front) and 11.5 x 20 ET 76 with 305/30 ZR 20 tires (rear).
The technical specs for the base GTS still says 235/265. My bet is that the configurator default to 245/305 is just an error. One thing most of us can agree on is that Porsche isn't giving away 1 1/2" of rubber for free.

In addition to the "Carrera S IV" wheels, the configurator says that the 2019 718 base and S can be ordered with the "Carrera Classic II," the "Forged 'Turbo IV' one-piece," and the "Carrera Sport" wheels, all with: 8.5 x 20 ET 49 with 245/35 ZR 20 tires (front) and 11.5 x 20 ET 76 with 305/30 ZR 20 tires (rear).
If my calculations are correct, the 1.5" wider rears with that offset difference would actually be about 2" closer to the inner fender well.
Will any of those wheels fit?
