Can't answer your technical question, but I'd check Suncoast Porsche in Florida and maybe Sunset in Oregon.

I'm on my second set of PCCB's (2005 Carerra S and 2009 TT), but before I bought the TT off the lot new, I was going to order a '10 GT3 and was going to get steel brakes. PCCB's are awesome brakes, but for the cost I'm not sure why you would go for them unless you have some very special need.

If you are seriously interested in this I would call one of the parts guys at Sonnen and confirm that the kit contains all you need..

If you type the part number in on Suncoast's website it looks to me like it's all you need and it fits your turbo.. And its almost $500 more from them.. Sunset wants almost $600 more.

I've not verified but I would think the kit would be cheaper than buying all the individual parts needed for a retrofit..and depending on mileage I would think that someone would buy your standard brakes that was looking to upgrade to turbo brakes..

Suncoast is great and I've used them many times before but they are not the cheapest if you know what you need..and if you are going to drop that kind of $ every bit helps.

For the large majority of things, I've yet to find a cheaper source for genuine factory parts than Sonnen.

Unless unsprung weight and brake dust are big issues for you why don't you look at the big brake kits from Brembo and Stoptech? Similar stopping power (if not better) for half the price.

Thanks for the replies. I will ask my local dealer if the kit is all that is needed.

The weight and the brake dust are the major drivers for me...but the car is a garage queen (only 6,000 miles) so it would mostly just be a vanity purchase.

Best price I have seen so far for brand new is US$14,280 delivered from Europe.

Which is perfectly fine. It is a great option to have.
And it transforms the cars behavior for the better.

Makes me laugh when people need to question PCCB's on a Porsche.
Not needed, agreed but so is the Porsche itself and for sure a turbo.

I agree. I've turned into a brake junky with my PCCB's. I'd never buy a new Porsche without checking that box (of course, I'm never going to buy a new Porsche, but that's beside the point).

I did see that LA Dismantler had a low mile set of 4 PCCB's off of a car they were selling for ~$8k on eBay. You'd have to do some real due diligence if they were good, but they'd be half price.

I drove my Son's '07TT with steel and mine with PCCB back to back. There is a discernible difference in turn in, and not in braking distance. Far as I can tell.

I have 91K on the car. Front pads replaced at 70K or so, dealer tech measures rotors each time and keeps saying, good for the life of the car.

The other benefits, no brake dust, long pad and rotor life - I would order my next with PCCB. Not a good investment if you only plan to drive few miles and keep the car short time.

Duty from Europe is in the single % digits I believe.

Local dealer confirmed the kit contains everything you need. Their price is $15866 installed (plus tax).

I have no plans on selling the car, really can't think of anything I would rather replace it with other than a 997 gt2...

If you don't mind spending that money, it is totally worth it. I used to hate cleaning the wheels due to brake dust and rusted metal looking residues dripping all over the freshly clean wheels make me go insane. Since I bought my TT with PCCB, I clean the wheels once every couple months just wipe off the dirt with a wet towel and it look new again for months. For me it totally worth the money.

I must live in an alternate universe. Spending $15k+ to avoid spending 10 minutes once a month or so washing the wheels. Or, to look at it another way, spending an amount equal to 20% of the value of the car to avoid brake dust. Amazing. To each his own I guess!

Amigo, if you're driving a 997TT then welcome to the alternate universe where folks spend tens of thousands of dollars on their P-Cars versus another universe where selecting floor-mats with matching seat covers for a Toyota Prius is a huge deal.
True praticality left the planet the day each of us accepted the responsibility to maintain and care for these Porsches. So I get your point, it's just brake dust...but when folks are willing to drop $3500.00 to $5000.00 for an exhaust system or $7000.00 for wheels for these cars....$15,000 for the holy grail PCCBs begin to makes sense...at least in my whacky universe, where passion for my 997TT has me considering how to "invest" the next $10,000.
