Opinion on this 2008 Turbo with 745 miles
Guys-
Please see this 2008 Turbo. It has only 745 miles. Is that a concern? Also, it has the sycamore wood package that I don't like. It is possible to replace the sycamore trim with something else. The car is NOT CPOed as well. Asking price $98,790.
Only 1 service has been performed on the car. It was bought in 11/2007 and a service performed after 18 months after the car had about 200+ miles on it. It was traded and had only 700+ miles on it.

As long as the car had all of the recommended services performed, I see no reason for concern. I'd probably put half that mileage on round trips to the Porsche Dealer for servicing every year. It would be interesting to get the history of that car. Could be quite interesting.

Any opinions about the Sycamore Wood? I am not very crazy about the wood finish.

A low option car with very high asking price and regardless of mileage NOT WORTH IT... not to mention swapping out the wood accents is going to cost you atleast another $1500- $2000.
For that price I can easily pick up a well optioned 2009 with pretty low miles not to mention the OEM warranty it would come with

It's basically a new car, that is worth a substantial premium to most. Is it worth it to you ? If yes go for it. If you are handy you can replace all the wood yourself and make it a rather inexpensive solution.
The warranty should be included imo. Negotiate and try to get it for asking.
Oh, natural leather grey is a very desirable option ! It is as dark as the normal black leather but the look and feel is extra ordinary.
I have natural brown and wow , it is amazing. Other leathers are plastic like in comparison. That alone makes this car desirable to me.

A few months ago an '08 turbo came online in GT Silver/Natural Leather brown. Sold by a P dealer in Germany. Nothing special ? Well, it had only 3000km and was close to being brand new. I was very interested in that car but hesitated. Asking was €96500. It was sold within days. The dealer didn't even have to put up pictures of it. The add said 'pictures coming soon' but it was gone before that happened.
Not many opportunities left to buy a 'new' GT1 997 turbo.

A car with that spec wouldn't sit about for long especially in that colour combo and with SC sports adaptive , park etc. If OP is thinking waiting then I'm not sure what he's waiting for. Thats a car you'd really need to put your for on pretty quickly.

My first thought was yuck, wood. But that price is around $30K off the then new price, for which you could change out the wood, add Europipe, and zoom!
Lack of CPO is curious, but it would not deter me.
The natural grey leather - very nice color- does not look as dark as the ones I saw, but could be just the light in the pics.

I personally would rather buy an '09 with an upgraded steering wheel, PSM and not to mention the last model year of the GT1 engine block.
'07 even though has a lower miles but it will soon be a 6 year old car and will break your money tremendously.
For $100,000 there are much nicer cars out there then this one.

Thanks C2 Turbo. I probably agree. I am OK with having some more miles on 2009 rather than buying this garage queen. I think upgraded electronics, Bluetooth etc. is probably going to make it more of a daily driver I am looking for. Also, having Porsche CPOed car will also be helpful. What car do you drive C2 Turbo?

I do not have any feel for the 2008 Turbos but if they are like mosts cars some will be perfect from day 1 and others will not be. These in the 2nd group once the issues are sorted usually turn into fine cars. Which category will this car fall into? Flip a coin.
The lack of a CPO troubles me. Why? I'd want to know. Generally a dealer will jump on a cherry car and CPO it -- it costs nothing but in this case probably tires and an oil/filter service -- and then stick a premium price on the car. The warranty takes a lot of the worry out of buying such a low miles car. (Part of the reason I bought my 03 Turbo with ~10K miles was the presence of a 2 year, 100K mile warranty. I used it too, adding around 45K miles to the car in those two years which brought to light some problems, one was a leaking transmission seal which resulted in the car getting a new transmission.)
The seller wants a premium for the low miles, but this premium goes away as soon as one puts the miles on the car.
As for the wood trim, generally if the in this case interior of a car is not to your liking you are better off finding a car that has an interior to your liking. My WAG is attempting to swap out the current trim for something else would be costly and might *not* turn out quite as nice as you would like. For instance, you trade the unwanted/unloved wood trim for different trim that rattles and fits poorly and adds considerable to the cost of the car.
Be sure you treat yourself and the car to a good test ride/drive and a PPI. No warranty means you have to be sure there's nothing currently wrong wtih the car.
Added: I took a quick look at the pics. I like the wood trim. Also, a car that little used might have been visited by mice or worse. Your PPI guy wants to be really really on his toes and look for any *any* signs of rodent damage or repairs of rodent damage.
Sincerely,
Macster.

I saw this car at the dealership and wasn't impressed with the mixed color interior. Other than that it's in great shape. Tyson's is typically high but they do sell a good product and you can work with them. I also have the same after market warranty on my car; it's good too.

I bought mine with 900 miles on it back in Jan of 09 but it came with the CPO warranty. I did need a battery a few months later which was not covered under warranty. My car was "new" and never had a problem or issue. I think their asking price is a bit high and for that kind of money I agree with you - get the updated electronics with i-pod, sat radio, etc in an 09 model. However, If you can buy that car for 85-88k then I would strongly consider it.
