GTS vs Turbo ??
I was all set to pull the trigger on a '11 Turbo. Coming from an '05 Carrera S... now i am not so sure. GTS looks appealing and a lot less $$

I cant even believe they came out with a GTS, what is that? are sales that low, we have so many variants of the 911 and most of them I believe serve a purpose, this however, has none. My 2 cents, get a turbo

There is a Carrera GTS now. It seems to be a tuned C2S (408hp vs. 385hp). Here are the specs etc.

Unless you want a NA 911 I would say Turbo. No doubt the car will have enough power. It comes with sport exhaust so it should produce a nice sound.
I think they made a mistake by not adding a AeroKit on Wing to set it apart from other 911's
You can bet he 991 will come in around 415 hp to beat this last end model Same with 991 Turbo it will be near the Turbo S if you cant wait that long.

A lot of people at Team Speed are praising this car. It does fill a niche for sure though. Look at it, wide bodied C2S with more power and power options. Sure it cost more but you will be paying more to get into a Porsche with those features anyway. Porsche didn't want to put a wing on it because with the power, being closer to the GT3, they needed to differentiate it from that model!
Does Porsche really need to come out with this car right now with the Speedster on the way? Probably not! Would they have done this if Dr. Ing. h.c. Ferdinand Porsche had owned the whole SHEBANG instead of VW? Probably not!
On a personal not I have been going back and forth on purchasing my first Porsche just about a year now. Going between Turbos and GT3s and C4Ss; I don't know what to do. So I remain driving around in my trusty ole Subaru. Hell it's reliable and still has a Boxster engine! I'm going to remain on the fence until the 991s come out before anything happens and when that does I will see if they are really worth it, pull the trigger on a 991 C4S or get a used GTS Cab.
Truthfully Porsche does not make it easy. Have you ever seen the movie "Moscow on the Hudson" with Robin Williams. When he goes to the grocery store and goes Ape-**** in the Coffee aisle because of all the options he has? Well that is what I feel like a lot of the time. Especially with all the models now and choosing either PDK of 6Speed. What a problem to have?

While the GTS is a very nice package, I'm afraid it will go the way of the 40th Anniversary 996. That was a great car, but they couldn't sell them. Too close in price and vision to a GT3 IMO. To answer the OP, get the Turbo
