6 months after you take delivery of your next turbo.

And it will be a 4.0, not 3.8.

That's what I figure - that would be about 5 months from now.

No reason to believe that this engine will not be better than the current one. In fact the new turbo with DFI and PDK (when it comes out) should be sensational.

I agree. With 40% fewer moving parts and no intermediate shaft, I think the new engine will prove itself more reliable. The new oil pick-up and pump also looks like an improvement. The way it works, I don't think it can be considered a wet sump. Perhaps when it's not running, if they have eliminated the oil tank.

Actually I was wrong, it will come out with sextuplet turbos, one for each cylinder. With each cylinder making 100hp each. They're going to call it the 997 SEX Turbo.

This is correct information. In addition to that, the "Sport" mode will allow you to warp to light speed for 10 seconds. I am not sure of the hp or torque numbers in that mode, though.

Edmunds.com just recently caught spy photos on the Nurburgring. Engineers were caught installing the second generation expansion manifold...pics:

Sorry, but any new engine has a LONG way to go to live to the standard set by the M64/GT1 derived lump.....a very long way to go.
Look at the history and reliability of the M64/GT1 derivatives.....IMHO it is one of Porsche's best engines of all time.

With respect to PDK, I'm waiting to see how long before Porsche admits "we got it wrong".
