@Cosmo Kramer I think the blacked out tails doesn't go well with the chrome exhaust tips but the OEM reds/clear are definitely better. You should look into upgrading to LEDs. I had them on my black 08 Turbo and they looked great. Truly transforms the rear. Not the best photo but you get the point.

I am one of the lucky ones that has the factory red tail lights. Wish they were LED, but the look is very clean!

I am thinking of wrapping my inlets satin black, you have a white turbo, thoughts?

Yeah, I like the satin black look on exhaust tips. I had the OEM satin black on my black 08 and was planning on putting them on my 09 but the previous owner installed the Europipe exhaust and chrome TechArt tips (I might get those painted satin black as my next project). I really like the duel tips on yours.

I also have the all red tail lights as well but swapped them out with LEDs. I think the LEDs give the rear a nice and not over the top updated look.

Suspension upgrade time on the TT! Got this car a little over a year ago and put a FVD tune, speedtech exhaust, BMC filter, DSC, and PDK tune on it. She's fast but was sloppy. Way to much sway and bounce in the rear so decided to give her a much needed suspension upgrade to include:
1. GMG F and R sway bars.
2. Bilstein B16 Damptronic coil overs. Lowered the car about 3/4".
3. Tarrett drop links.
4. GT3 control arms.
5. More aggressive alignment.

Also adjusted the exhaust tips out a little to extend past the rear bumper more as I was getting too much black soot. Will have her back soon and can't wait to test out the mods.

Working on Turbo a bit during lockdown. She's now purring like a kitty and fast as hell .

- Full 60K service
- Fixed leaking CV boots on the front axle
- turbo actuator lube
- full alignment
- 997.2 Intercooler install
- Rear Seat Removal DIY
- Tune from Kevin@UMW

She's almost 20% faster in 3-4th gear pulls ^_^. Big improvement in cooling from the new ICs. Thanks again to Kevin for an amazing tune.

How do you like the FVD tune?

I'm a huge fan of FVD and have had their tune on all of my TT. I've used GIAC as well and it was good but always switched back to the FVD. I think they have the boost really dialed in. I'll also say that their PDK tune is the BOMB so if you have a PDK run don't walk to get that done. The PDK on the gen 2 997 cars to me was always a bit slow and clunky and this tune sorts it completely though you really have to drive it hard to get the benefit. It makes the transmission a bit more high strung if you will kinda like the pdk on the 991 GT3. Now it's not the same so don't get me wrong it's just closer. Shifts are more snappy and it rings every last drop of RPM out of the gear before a more efficient shift.

Hi Noah! ts working well only driven maybe 50-60 miles so. Takes a lot of the floaty-ness out in normal mode that’s for sure. Super easy installation!

Had a leaky steering rack in the passenger side seal. Also inner tie rods shot with only 39,000 miles! 😮

DIY the rack (rebuilt) and it came with new inners, and I did new outer tie rods while I was at it. Off to the alignment shop next week.

I picked up my 70 y/o mother-in-law at the Toyota dealership where she serviced her car. She was quite happy for the ride.
