didn’t need a reducing adapter. The larger diameter thread 13 bar pressure switch from OEM automotive (£74 delivered, Porsche £438) fitted no issues and works.

My 7.2 GT3 was built Q4, 2009.

also new belt (£13 delivered) from RS fitted to air compressor.

FAL hopefully now trouble free for the next decade.

thanks to the info, knowledge, expertise and experience in this amazing thread 🎉💥👏👍

Please post the specific part number and link so others can benefit-it looks like the FL distributor in the US will no longer sell the switches and US car owners might have to buy from Europe, unless another Suco distributor in the US can be found-

Thnx

I was able to source these from The Sensor Connection
https://thesensorconnection.com/
Wasn't as cheap as direct from Suco in FL, but still cheaper than the dealer.

switch took 3 months to arrive as not in stock. Also had to set up account to order, then various phone calls to get them to create special part number to deal with 13 bar pressure setting

OEM automotive are helpful though.

After the initial post, PCNA did get a complete FAL shipped from Germany and installed it after hearing my case, and the dealer helped to get it done at zero cost to me. That complete FAL costs about $12-14K list price

Hello all, I am a first time poster here and very grateful to have found this gold mine of a thread.

This thread and the excellent infos within have solved my FAL problems. A special thankyou to the main contributors.
I had suffered 2 different problems, firstly the lift light not illuminating and then obviously then not returning to the down position from the button. This was resolved with a new pressure switch. Then some time later another complete failure whereby the FAL would not react at all when the button was pressed. The second problem was a failed belt. I suspected this might be the case as the only other example referred to here had exactly the same symptoms and was another UK car.

My car is a 2010 997.2 GT3 and the belts are therefore now 14 years old. They are however easy to fit with the system in situ so I would very much recommend a preventative replacement as this is a £5 part.

Thank you once again to all the contributors.

Glad we were able to help and we have another fixed FAL. Mine was the other UK car with the broken belt 👍

Since it's winter here(ending soon) with less humidity, I've used the FAL more often, "use it or lose it" is my thinking. It rises in about 3-5 seconds, working well. Funny thing is depending in the conditions, the swoosh sound when it's lowered doesn't happen. cdixon might be able to explain this, the tank stores the extra pressurized air but I haven't memorized the cycle process-

this is why I had my belt replaced as a precaution as it was over 14 years old.

the LIFT light comes on much quicker now, less than 5 secs.
