Default Rear Decklid fan not working

So after a spirited drive today, once again I was expecting the fan to turn on when I pulled into the garage and shut her down but nope! No fan. So I'm thinking that my fan does not work.

I did some searching and I'm hoping it's a fuse. IOf anyone else has any insight that could save me some time, please share. I'll be diving into it tomorrow or early this week as I've finally got some free time.

I think it also runs when the engine is on and the engine lid is closed. May want to take a look through the grille on the rear lid if you take it out and see if It’s working. Also, if I drive it, park it, go back in it and put the key in position 2, then sometimes it will turn on then too. Just some things to consider being looking into it.

You will probably get a cell on the cluster if it’s not working.

When mine stopped it was the fan.
even though fan ran when 12v applied it was pulling too much juice and confuser **** it down.
traced relay and fuses. They were ok
the fuse and relay are under the rear deck cover
I’m pretty sure i have an old thread on this here

The .2 fan is updated and is more shallow than the original .1 Bolts up and plugs in the same.

Yes mine does too. But if you open lid, fan will shut off.

Just took a drive, pretty late at night, and it's in the lower 60's here. I can hear the fan cycling on and off as I type-I keep the garage door cracked open for fresh air while it's cooling off. I have the batt tender on through the cigarette lighter plugged as soon as I park. I recall a very old thread speaking about keeping the deckled open versus leaving it down with the fan cycling on and off- can't recall if most preferred leaving it open or closed.
During the summer inferno I leave the garage door open, and alternate letting the fan run or deckled open.
You could try applying 12 volts directly to the fan to see oil it spins-

I also took a ride last night and I didn’t hear the fan while parked. I think you can check if it’s properly functioning with the durametric.

Back when I bought my first GT3, I would leave the deck open to vent the heat. I was informed, by a few members, that it's best to leave the deck lid closed as the fan pulls air into the engine bay and pushes it out the bottom. This prevents the heat from the exhaust from cooking all the rubber components on the motor. Now I just have a box fan that pulls air out the bottom when I return the car to the garage. Will have to do until I figure out the fan issue. Car goes to Pro Motorsport next week so maybe I'll have them take a quick peek at it.

Yeah, it seems best to just *let the fan do its work with the lid closed

Had to edit, meant to say "let the fan do its work"

Any update on troubleshooting this issue. My .2 doing the same thing.

Mine will occasionally go on - Its almost as if it has a faulty temp sensor for it sometimes work, sometimes not. Appreciate any guidance on the "fix"

That's an interesting proposition, in a thread where many people are saying their fan does not run after the car is shut off.

I know that on my .1, the fan would turn on when I parked it in the garage. Would stay on for a good amount of time. 10 minutes or so, iirc. I've never heard the fan on this new car. Granted, I've only put a few hundred on her, bit still.

Just found out that I have the week off after tomorrow. I'll try to hook up my Launch and see what's up.

I discovered my fan wasn't working when the dealer found a fault code. I swapped it out for a new one and it started working again.
