Default Sticky clutch pedal

997.2 GT3. Clutch pedal started sticking at times at half way point and then snaps up. A few times I had to pull it from half way point for it to snap up. Started happening after track day.

How to determine if it's a faulty clutch slave or clutch power spring?

I had the same thing occur on my 997.1 C2 briefly last year. It felt as though the clutch mechanism/ spring was binding, although it came back enough for the clutch to bite. On a couple of occasions, I found I could put my toe under the clutch pedal and it would spring the rest of the way up.

By chance I had it going into the P dealer about the same time - they checked the return mechanism and bled the clutch slave cylinder, but found nothing obviously amiss. Even so, I've had no further issues.

Thanks! Will have a look and check if the spring is ok. Then bleed Slave and take it from there.

Physically sticking down sounds like a return spring. Is the action while depressing smooth and as expected?

Yes - depressing is smooth.

Had a look at the clutch power spring today and it looks ok.

Mine stuck down once on track. Then it came back up and was fine. I had the clutch slave cylinder changed just in case. No problems since. But my clutch pedal is quite stiff. Is there a spring I could switch out to soften the clutch?

Heavy clutch down to a worn pressure plate. My clutch got a lot lighter after I installed a 4.0 clutch and pressure plate.

+1 on clutch slave. I had the exact same problem a week ago. Clutch pedal only returns about half way then snaps up. Dealership replaced the clutch slave under warranty, and no problem now.

Same thing happened to me, but it was called clutch spring. Not sure if it's the same, but it always got bad on hot days.

Saw your thread. Checked the clutch pressure spring and that was fine.

Is there any interference that might hit the spring at partial deflection? Is there an open point where grit may get in the pedal pivot or a lubrication point?
